I just saw the parts on iTunes and noticed you still hadn't figured out how followers work. It's pretty much every 1000 points will get you one follower. That's it. No requirements per level, it's just a matter of replayability.

Wait, not quite, it's probably a very precise number of points for a follower, like 956 or something, because I looked at a follower count for one of the levels you played through, you got 40140 points and yet you got 36 followers, so it's not "exactly" 1000, but it's pretty close.
