They were great Engneers! Everyone must admit! Really! much better than many others! Not in beauty of course but in High, volume of their mighty piramids, how could mankind with stone age and these simple basic methods and tools build all these big mighty buildings! amazing.
@ramses1 It would have been great to see in this video series how the maya started in 1800-1500bc cause new evidence has arise that the maya had small but significant contact with the Olmec's around the pacific coast of Guatemala.
@asianthor This documental is missing a very important piece of Mayan history, the beginning.
This is when Teotihuacan ruler send FIRE IS BORN to Wacka(Guatemala) and conquest Tikal also in Guatemala and begin the greatest era of the Mayan civilization.
Fire is Born is very important in the creation of the empire.
@meminpinguin41 How can you say that Teotihucan was @ the begining of the Mayan timeline when @ the cuenca of El Mirador(the cradle of the maya civilization) is hundreds or thousand yr's older than Teotihuacan or Tikal. Nakbe arose bet 1,400-1,600bc and maybe even Nakbe is not the oldest cause in the pacific coast of Guatemala theres a place call La Blanca that theres evidence the Maya started in that region 1,800-1,600bc and had contact with the Olmec's.
@asianthor More info is been descovered, and FIRE IS BORN is a central figure, is not clear if he was a ruler, a prince or just a commander, but at the begining of the Mayan top years he was there. And that is what this documental is missing.
Fire is Born needs to be included, Check: Maya Rise and fall.

Pacal's father was Pakal Votan. Votan was one of the founders of Palaneque and was 80 years old when he died. Spanish priests had translated Pacal's work and it claims that Pacal had traveled through the continent mass of Atlantis onward to the city of Babel where the tower of Babel was being constructed. He had seen the Phoenitians and Egyptians. I think the Mayan glyphs may have been inspired by the Egyptians hieroglyphs.
@BTC141 Ignatius Donnelly's theory was that the concept of pyramids both Mayan and Egyptian was developed by refugees from the lost civilization of Atlantis. Not many people believe this of course.
I wonder if their writing was like hieroglyphics or if the pictographs had a sentence in each.
