  • the computer was a NeXT. lol c:

  • Computer was jammin when the plane came in

  • 1:07

"everthing you wanted and moooooore XD"

  • You can say what you want, but toasters, lamps, radio's and vacuum cleaners can NEVER be replaced!

  • I'm working on writing a stage/musical version of this, it's very fun except figuring out costumes is very difficult...

  • Hey! Computer, phone and boombox!

My friend iPhone would like to have a word with you suckers.

  • @SandvichEqualsTasty That'd be funny as hell! XDD

  • @GECP4256 Just imagine an iPhone blowing these jerks out of the water!

What's that, Mr. Computer? You've never heard of the internet or Youtube?

    WELLLLLLL... *insert musical number here*

  • @SandvichEqualsTasty Someone needs to amke a animation like that. TO ADOBE FLASH!

  • @GECP4256 Oh god, if only I were any good at writing musical numbers!

  • @SandvichEqualsTasty Me and you both. I suck at writing Songs and musical numbers.

  • @GECP4256 I'll try and give it a shot.

  • @SandvichEqualsTasty I shall too.

  • Since when are toasters obsolete?

  • Lol. VHS and casset tapes cutting edge? Riiight.

  • I love the satirical stuff in this. Awesome stuff

  • i also agree with everyone else that i also want to beat up that purple lamp and that black thingamajigy...computer lol xD

  • I didnt even know MYSELF They had that much technology in the 80s! Wow.... i missed a little spot there xD i love these movies and songs :)

  • O man, that computer.... If its actually alive, then i must apologize to it, or break it... It knows too much.

  • Now in 2011 all the "cutting edge" electronics can play the "worthless" role.

  • actual stimulation?? i bet the family's gonna be fumed when they see that an airplaine is in the side of their house...

  • Lol an upright vacuum being manipulated by a canister

  • i really want to beat that computer and purple lamp in the face

  • I still use a radio, toaster, Kirby vacuum, electric blanket, and a lamp with the whole bendable stem thing going on. Plus, who would use a projector when there's regular old TV? All of that other stuff is junk >:l

  • BIg Fat show offs

  • I never understood a word of the song.

  • Showoffs:)

  • Computer graphics locked into your memories.

  • Thumbs if you're watching this in 2011 on your 64-bit computer with a terabyte hard disk and four gigabyte random access memory.

  • @Invisibrah thats a shit computer dude

  • @krogardious

    I'm worthless ( . _ .)

  • looks like the Blanket had no cutting-edge-appliance to compete with. but if this were the 2000s, then it'd be the Snuggie

  • Lol its funny that even the cutting edge appliances are obselete now... But still.. i bet kirby and blanket and all them older ones are prob. way more reliable than those cutting edge peices of crap :)

  • @cellphonesrock76: In an era of disposable, low-quality electronics that are getting more expensive by the minute, you are absolutely right.. Things were made to last before. Now, even looking at a new appliance will damage it.

  • @SakiAiza Yes. Exactly. That canister vacuum for example... today they are all made of plastic. The kirby, All metal. Way more reliable. Exactly.

  • CRTs hurt my eyes... LCD ftw!!

  • lmao primittive we now have 3d printing as cutting edge. Literaly make advanced objects outa nothing

  • The only real design here that hasn't gone obsolete is the green vacuum, the two piece one, they still sell those at sears.

  • The computers we're using can kick the crap out of those singing outmodes

    (Not the classic appliances)

  • It was toy story except they thought house hold appliances made more sense to come alive..

  • @bwel2424 Yeah, and The Brave Little Toaster was way before Toy Story.

  • Augh...those smiles were creepy!

  • that lamp looks like a fully lobotomised grimace from mcdonalds, sooo creepy

  • troll computer, meet mac book pro.

  • They mock the old stuff but I bet the old stuff will outlive them by decades.

  • *Hears the opening synthesizer*

AUGH! That much 80's can kill a man!

  • for all those people who say the lamp is posing, you never know, he may play MP3's lol

  • that lamp is the lolwut pear

  • 2:50 GOD THAT LAMP IS GETTING HIS TROLL ON!

on another note, can anyone tell me the message of this song? i seemed to miss it ;)

  • @Disneyfanatic57 true, but he was probably raped by the computer.

  • everyone agrees the cutting edge lamp is a poser.

  • Back in the late 80s, this WAS the cutting edge.

Also, I haven't seen too many stereo systems nowadays that double as HD movie projectors.

  • A lamp is cutting edge...

  • "it says so right here on the box. 'Hey kids! when you play with a genuine Bruno' that's me. 'you'll wanna throw those old toys away.' and that's you. "

  • EEP

  • "That's because we're the cutting edge of technology."

    Lampy: "What does that mean?"

It means we're about to get 1988 up in this beast...

  • This movie was ahead of its time.

  • I miss the eighties

  • Fiber optics is forever ingraved into my soul

  • Oh, forgot to mention laptops, but that's okay.

  • It's also ironic that 80's cutting-edge technology appliances are now obsolete these days, replaced by things like iMacs, iPads, iPhones, cell phones, Blackberrys, iTunes, CDs, DVDs, LCD display monitors, florescent light bulbs, satellite antennas, new computers like Windows XP and Windows 7, and, of course, the Internet. Nice nostalgia video! :)

  • I think I remember that song when I was little. Now that I'm grown up, I feel that America is still using things like satellite dish antennas, LEDs and small woofers and tweeters, while things like antenna trees and CRTs are no longer in production, with the latter replaced by LCD monitors these days. Even new computers still process words and accounting and pixel screen displays and computer graphics, while cell phones still allow you to reach out and talk to those in connection.

  • 0:22 Apparently to be on the Cutting Edge the lamp had to get a full frontal lobotomy.

  • *laugh* It's funny how the scene attempting to be the most hip and state-of-the-art is the scene that dates the film the worst! Late 80s, anyone? XD

  • @TrelliaChan That's usually how it happens.

  • omg!! lol i used to watch this as a kid ALL the time. now i look back and....how was i ever into it? lol. still cool though.

  • It is funny that most of the "cutting edge" stuff is obsolete but the ones they r mocking r classics an not "outmoded"

  • @tr3vinoju5tin everything in this is obsolete but they are also all classics

  • @tr3vinoju5tin also bearing in mind that at the time this was made, the cutting edge stuff was all new and...well cutting edge lol

  • @tr3vinoju5tin yeah, cutting edge my back end. Look at that purple lamp! The one wth the real gang is more useful, as is the toaster and blanket. The rest of them aren't that impressive when you think about it.

  • @tr3vinoju5tin Yeah, funny how technology works.

  • @tr3vinoju5tin Except the radio, you're right.

  • @tr3vinoju5tin

That was definitely intentional and very clever on the filmmakers' part.

  • @tr3vinoju5tin in a way there all classics now

  • At 2:40 they mention 'Tweeters'. That must be referring to something else...

  • This movie is an ACTUAL SIMULATION of what it would be like if appliances could talk.

  • the computer is hot.

  • Kirby style hoovers are really good, the latest version of kirby is dyson.

  • From LEDs to CRTs

    Woofers, tweeters, antenna trees

    An ultra-nylon life of ease

Everything you dreamed of on the edge

    And more..............

  • @metasonic543 lol out of my chair

  • This scared me as a kid....

  • That computer is getting his trollface on. Pretty fitting, now that I think of it...

  • imagine if the cutting edge appliances saw our technology today i don't think they would act so special

  • Anybody else notice that the jet is from "Hot Air"? Like most commercials... :P

  • I am so sick of modern animation(and children's programming in general) that is almost always sarcastic in nature. It develops a silly/cynical mindset in children that is dismissive of many things. The brave little toaster is a fantastic animated movie that I hope children these days can enjoy!

  • MOAR

  • If Disney remade this into modern day technology, these guys wouldn't be so smug.

  • how are the two other lamps cutting edge

    lol actual simulation

  • I find it funny our America is still just bringing LEDs into our technology integration

  • god i loved this movie as a kid. but now its ironically sad because now all the 'new' appliances are obsolete.

  • High tech antenna tree!

    Cutting edge cassette player!

It's like I'm really in the future.

  • I always loved this song as a kid, but now I'm starting to read deeper into it. I think it's an allegory about consumerism. Twice as epic.

  • isnt it funny all those "Cutting Edge" items

    are extremely Old this days!

  • You know whats ironic, today they would be the outdated ones and the ones they mocked even in this day in age would be useful around the house

  • that purple lamp that is flying in space at 1:59 is hardcore

  • that lamp is sooo cutting edge

  • I think that newer vacuum looks like a conjoined twin.

  • Its funny, I went into the used crap store and almost all the electronics that are in this video were on the shelves. Funny how none of our heroes were though.. shows how universal they are in their uses.

  • Anyone just love how 80s this song is....and it does make u want a 2011 version because the stuff in the 80s would be junk but the stuff older than that would be vintage...oh how the tables have turned.

  • anyone else miss this era?

  • 0:11

    that computer is TIGHT!!

  • man why wont those new appliances relize new isnt always, sometimes NEVER better than classic

  • telephone, meet car phone

    car phone, meet Cell Phone

    cell Phone, Meet Smart Phone

    smart Phone, meet iPhone

  • @TheLifeOfEpic

iPhone, meet the steel deck. (bad accident with my first iphone when i was stationed in japan. >.<)

  • I just noticed something. This does not get weird (impossible for that canon) until the projector comes out, so that means everything after the projector starts projecting is all the display projection. The "guard spot light" at 1:24 could work in that universe with 80's tech. Although, at 0:57, we have some special effects.

  • the golden age of appliences.... they don't make em like they used to

  • 1:34 deal with it

  • i want to pop and lock to this song

  • "We are on the cutting edge."

    (Five minutes later) outdated

  • This scene tripped me out so much as a kid.

  • MOAR!

  • *airplane crashes through window*

    ''~*ACTUAL SIMULATION!!!!1!1!*~''

  • @michaelsar12 Hmmm There are the Cutting Edge Appliances are The Bad Guys

  • I just love how dated this song is! XD LOL They really should remake this movie with today's modern day appliances!

  • @TimeWaster001 Pff...

These are REAL appliances... like everything else made today: p-crap

    (except for possibly computer)

  • 1:33 blanket's priceless in that shot! : D

2:19 Aaaah great... another stinkin car to go to a compactor... maybe at ernie's junkyard... ring any bells?

2:24 lol.. 'Actual Simulation!' with the plane, ha!

  • anyone wanna bet that the stuff thats "the cutting edge" in this video was made in china?

  • Just look at the hammer. It's been around for a really long time, and nothing has been invented to top it. Same with the iron. Sometimes older is better! :D

  • LOLOL corded phones!

  • I love computer' voice in this song the most :)

  • I never knew a wooden boat was cutting edge technology...Then again, I just saw a singing lamp spin through space so I guess anything is possible...

  • Suddenly RANDOM AIRPLANE

  • Comment removed

  • "That's because we're the cutting edge of technology". (Ipod walks in) "Hey guys!"

    ........

  • @MetaSonic543 ipad comes in and kicks him in the ass.

  • @MetaSonic543 (then toshiba and giant radio comes by)wassup guys

  • Ironically, most of those 'cutting edge' devices would be absolutely worthless or at least embarrassingly retro while our protagonists would be able to render useful service, except for the Radio and possibly Kirby.

  • Hey radio! The two faces on that new vacuum don't look like they're smiling. *wink*

  • @Starfishman13 I don't get it...

  • @bananaphoneman12 Well see, they showed this vacuum cleaner with two faces. They looked more sinister than the rest when they approached the old...stuff. The radio said "I don't belive I've seen so many smiles before". As you can see the vacuum looked more like it was frowning. Get it now?

  • @Starfishman13 Yes!

  • The lamp seems kind of out of place to me. Is a table lamp really "cutting edge"?

  • There's a lesson to all of this... don't always trust new technology, they can be nasty little blighters sometimes.

  • You know, this song actually freaked me out more than the "B Movie" number. I'm not quite sure why, I mean, its not as dark as the "Worthless" or as morbid as "B Movie", but I think its cause you just KNOW they're up to something, you KNOW they're planning something bad...

  • Comment removed

  • Actually, Lampy is more modern than the "cutting edge" lamp. Everything else, yeah that's more modern.

  • @KayDaySilver Really? How?

  • 2:06 - Just barfs the dough into the bowl.

  • Was anybody besides me surprised the Toy Story characters didn't go through something like this?

  • @imdb88 seriously could u imagine if the toys from daycare started playing a song like this. or even worse the b horror song.

  • @thewewguy8t88 Actually I was thinking of the toys vs. technology concept, but you brought up a good point too

  • @imdb88 i personaly think b movie and worthless and this song were just as dark as toy story 3 and not to mention the flower scene the air condinonter blowing up and the toasters dream. and honestly the maget was creepy too.

  • The flower was subtle, the two songs were entertaining, and you're right about everything else. I don't know Toy Story never broke into song.

  • @Johnny2071 yeah i know but like i said people were shocked by how dark the movie was it was like they forgot childrens movies can be dark and depressing at times.

  • Toys are played with by kids. Appliances are meant to fulfill their uses. I guess the Santa's workshop toys maybe go through this, but they're not the main characters. Andy never replaced his toys like the master did, he just when on a 9-year hiatus, then went off to college. And I doubt Bonnie would grown up to be that materialistic to open up that kind of plot for Woody and his friends.

  • MORE, MORE, MORE. EVERYTHING U WANTED AND MORE

if you want a lin machine to whip u up some min cuazina moza zhinzo tele automatic . hey i can bake your bisquits too pop some duboy out but my microsolid state and thats no static

I CAN PROCESS WORDS AND COUNT BY TWO MY PIXEL SCREEN DISPLAYS FOR YOU COMPUTER GRAPHICS LOCKED INTO UR MEMORY WITH FIBER OPTICS CAST IN PLASTIC WITH NITRO SINSEN SOUNDS FANTASTIC JUST REACH AND TALK TO YOUR DEAR UNCLE EMERY
  • ACTUAL SIMULATION

  • Does anyone else think of Prince?

  • the compter used to freak me out

  • A talking computer too! Imagine how I feel about my computer now!

  • I'm hoping to see that computer get a StrongBad email... the explode like the Tandy 400. P.S. This computer I'm typing on is 4 years old.

  • @Starfishman13 Oops! I meant to say "then explode like the Tandy 400" my mistake.

  • What's hysterical is that that computer has less processing power than the average phone.

  • I like the accented whisk machine XD

  • who's got that computers very seductive voice?

    it's so darn familiar

  • @lotten16 I want to know the same thing myself, he's got one of those real oozey kind of voices that you KNOW is meant to charm you... aaand it does

  • @SilverAlchemist111 it sure did

as soon as i heard it, i fell head over heels in love with it

i wish my computer could have that voice

  • @lotten16 Apparently Randy Bennett's the guy. I always wanted the same voice for my own computer. Well, that or Air conditioner's voice, that Jack Nicholson impression is STILL equally seductive and sinister all at once. RIP Phil Hartman

  • If theres one thing i learned from this movie, its that the future ridicules us.

That and animated feature films have gone downhill from here. I love this movie.

  • One thing I've always wondered...where's the mom during all this?

  • i just noticed the message that says order now that goes accross the screen at 2:18

  • The movie is locked into my MEMORY MEMORY MEMORY MEMORY MEMOR...

  • Interesting; having read the novel (yes, there was a novel) and watched the movie, I can see the difference, especially since the newer-age devices were benevolent and welcoming to our old-age friends, as opposed to antagonistic.

  • @TheTravellingCanuck1 Wikipedia whore LOL

  • @TheTravellingCanuck1 No shit, sherlock. I bet you didn't even read the book.

  • The 80's

  • >CRTs

    >Cutting Edge

Oh how long it has been.

  • High technology circa 1987...

  • Thank god this movie wasn't made more recently. I wouldn't be able to stand watching an iPod, a smartphone, and an Alienware laptop being all smug.

  • And the owners of the house DON'T hear the song?

  • 10 people were taken to Ernie's disposal.

  • I love the computer.

    "Everything you wanted and moooooooore!"

  • ohhhhhhhh i remeber this when i was little this takes me wayyyy back

  • If they had money to buy all that, why keep the old black and white, rabbit ear TV?

  • @zyzyzzy in the book version of brave little toaster, it's revealed the black and white TV was moved to the den...that's why you see a projector screen in the living room

  • I think that the computer printing out of the Keyboard is pretty Cutting Edge.
