Great players, great match. It's played EXACTLY how it should be with this match-up. Why are people complaining about projectile use? It's not like you have billion moves to use, like in Tekken. The moves are situation specific. Rather than going in aggressively, why not keep your distance and use projectiles instead? Much less dangerous, and it's not just throwing simple projectiles. These guys use mindgames in what KIND of fireballs they're throwing., and when. It's not cheap by any means.

I wonder what determines how Daigo plays...One game I remember..or maybe two, he completely rushes down Mago's Sagat.

In the Nagoya Street Battle he totally rushes down both Rikuson and Pie's Sagats.

In this one he's all patient and sitting back, waiting for opportunities....wonder what determines his style at a point in time....

His opponent, basically. He's incredibly good at recognizes a player's habits and analyzes them throughout a match. 

I think a remember a prior match against Mago where Mago actually came forward most of the time and that was what prompted Daigo to play more close range.

This time Mago is purposefully staying 3/4 screen and farther to win out fireball exchanges and force Daigo to jump in at a bad time.

Mago controls Sagat in a different and very effective way. You can see him using advanced mind games, doing an uppercut with only 1 bar as a mix up. It is a very risky thing to do, but risky in high level play has a higher ratio of success due to it being unexpected.

it appears to me that Ryu has faster recovery time than Sagat. I'm not saying Ryu is higher than Sagat tier-wise, but Sagat seems to have a low recovery. Ryu can anti-air w/ a normal easier than Sagat. IMHO Mago is equal to Daigo.

1. don't think about how the moves are done when u play practice enough so it becomes second nature .

2. always put yourself in your opponents shoes and you can anticipate what they'll do

3. mixup = win 80% of the time ... keep him guessing what you'll do and he won't have a chance to surprise you

4. Look at the match as 3rd person , not as your character , see the wider picture . Its not a game of pure skill , it's a game of wit ....

These guys are playing at the absolute peak of the Street Fighter skill pyramid, so if they "rely on their ultra and super to win," they most likely are going all in for the victory.
