I am black. but this cop acted totally correctly. She was resisting, her friend joined in which further escalated the situation. With that situation threatening to get out of control the cop threw a short punch which brought the situation under control. Sure, the arrest seemed a bit silly as surely a warning was appropriate (jaywalking??) but to turn this incident into "police brutality" is ridiculous. The subsequent inquiry cleared this officer, and rightly in my opinion.

Honestly, everyone watching is being shown only a portion of what occured in which you could make the assumption that the officer is in the wrong. Unfortunatly, what the camera didn't capture was what whent on before the video, where serious police intervention may have been needed. All everyone saw was a cop arresting a woman and a description. As the viewer, you have to realize that the person could've been in a fight with the other woman and the description could be a complete fabrication.

These 2 females were clearly resisting. However, There are protocalls to follow. I beleive the officer handled this situation in a very unprofessional & barbaric manner. He should've easily been able to subdue both women with restrains ( holds ) there was no need for the physical violence towards them by this officer of the law.

In this case..He had every right to do what ever he needed to control the situation. One girl resisting and the other grabbing him. She could have been trying to grab his gun. The girls are both wrong. The girl in the pink should punch her friend for resisting. It's her fault. Young people need to learn when to shut up and respect the law. fight it in court...not on the street. Get real people..If he slammed the girl resisting, people would be saying that was too harsh. Al he had to do was put the secondary ( 2nd lady ) in a arm bar as quickly as possible ( which should b easy for a man his size ) & cuff her. I'm only 5"11, 165 lbs & I took a program that shows me how to put a 7" 500lb beast to his knees. ( sorta speak ) Police officers have more advanced training then myself. I always use restraints. I've had to resort to a choke hold once only cause the guy was double my size. Other then that it's always been restraints, Pressure points. Never striking someone. Whatever tactic it is, its either physical, tazer or shott. There are no good options when people are fighting the cop, which is what they were doing.
If it was a man fighting the cop, there would be no question that the cop resort to force and fight back whichever way he can, even shooting.

There will always be someone bigger than you whom you have to arrest and I don't want a police force full of steroid gorillas. It is better that they are small and smart so that most cases will have to be resolved non violently.

He could have pepper sprayed, but he was directly assaulted already. There's no time to fumble with such things and do a BART and shoot a gun by mistake. (I expect you know the case)

I am black. but this cop acted totally correctly. She was resisting, her friend joined in which further escalated the situation. With that situation threatening to get out of control the cop threw a short punch which brought the situation under control. Sure, the arrest seemed a bit silly as surely a warning was appropriate (jaywalking??) but to turn this incident into "police brutality" is ridiculous. The subsequent inquiry cleared this officer, and rightly in my opinion.

Honestly, everyone watching is being shown only a portion of what occured in which you could make the assumption that the officer is in the wrong. Unfortunatly, what the camera didn't capture was what whent on before the video, where serious police intervention may have been needed. All everyone saw was a cop arresting a woman and a description. As the viewer, you have to realize that the person could've been in a fight with the other woman and the description could be a complete fabrication.

If you are deemed to be placed under arrest then you should cooperate and hold still and not resist arrest. The fact that it turned out to be two women should not change anything, if they want to be deemed equal than be equal.
