Personally I think the game was not all bad. I can't deny that as far as controls are concerned, was grossly misleading. But the change of 2-D to 3-D was something that sooner or later must come. The players must adapt to change and accept that CAPCOM always want to give us the best. At the rate we are going, maybe the desired X9 never came out for sale by the "exclusivity" of the players.

I didn't mind the 3D in X7, it was just that the game was so ridiculously hard and confusing, especially with the upgrade system...

@mopbrothers No it doesn't. Megaman was born 2D and it was awesome. Then came this 3D crap and made it stupid. And in X8 campcom TRIED to fix things and made it 3D, SIDESCROLLING! WHAT THE HELL!

@mopbrothers Its not the 3D itself thats the problem, its that the game was a total mess. The game lacked any sense of thrill or speed, the hit detection was lousy, the 3D segments were unreasonably sluggish, the level design was bland, among other flaws like the bland music and mediocre presentation. The game was so bad it makes X6 (which i generally loathe) look like Ocarina of Time in comparison. I could at least get through most of it--X7 i couldnt even force myself to finish.
