No offense intended, but that sound rediculus. Gary wasn't officially in the original game. (Since you mentioned Red, it would be Green) That would have to make it manga canon and as far as I know, the manga is still not finished and only fan translations are made availible as of now. Misty and Brock are Kanto (aka eastern Japan) Gym Leaders; they appear only in Red, Blue, Gold, Silver and Crystal (and of course, the remakes of these games). They have never been seen in Pokemon Black or White versions, set in the Unova region (aka New York/east coast).
