Anyone knows a similar game, but placed in a space environment? Building spaceships, diplomacy, and stuff...SPACE themed strategy pased on hexes? I dream about one :(((

@HiroyasuShadow Despite that Starcraft is not a space game... it is not a board game either... and it's not based on hexes too... Oh...and ther's no diplomacy actually... Yah... very similar thanks :) (no space... the tilsets are: Ash world, badlands, Desert, Ice, Installation, Jungle world, Twilight...and watch out...Space....Platform! which is not actually playable, it's an equivalent of water. )

@Rotceev ignorance can be your only excuse...Starcraft IS actually a boardgame as well (similar to Rune Wars even)....AND the video game does have spaceships, and a SPACE theme, making it a SPACE game and...if you play multiplayer FFA games (board or video) can be diplomacy used as well..so...if you don't know what your talking about, you should probly just keep quiet...."Better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to open ones mouth and remove all doubt...."

3D mountains is overproduce for sure.

Battles with cards are pretty annoying, i'd rather roll dices.

Art is amazing.

And you always have to remind yourself its not "enemy annihilation" game - it's all about controlling runes =)

So, all in all, this is kind of Empires by Hobby Products, but at a lot friendlier price and with 3d markers instead of carboard ones.

this game is quite bad. the heroes are poorly implemented and the skill factor is so low this game is purely determined by random factors. It also takes about 3 times as long as its original described game lenght.

This game is awesome. If you do play I highly reccomend that you play the epic variant included in the rules. Yeah, it's a bit longer, but it's totally worth it.

this looks fun, but the planetary empires/mighty empires game that is compatible with warhammer fantasy/40k is a bit more fun if u ask me. same hexagon idea, but instead you have full 3d map in each hexagon and u fight a warhammer game for each of your opponent's lands u are attacking. same idea, but MUCH longer (months or even years to play and win)

RuneWars is a great game, and it offers what you can't get from electronic games-- deep strategic decisions. My advice to you guys who's friends won't play it-- find new friends! Seriously, hang in there. There are plenty of gamers out there, you'll find them.

This game is lying around the house for over a month now. I overestimated my friends; they just don't like it that you have to learn so much rules... Too bad... waste of my money, allthough I still wait for the day I can play it lol

This could be the most epic Fantasy Flight game yet (which is saying a lot considering these are the guys who put out Descent, War of the Ring and son on). Very impressive!

Actually RuneWars isn't even close to being "the same exact game" as RuneBound.

The only similarity is the world and the molds they use for the hero figures.

Got mine the other day, just ran a little game (to teach myself and a brother) ready for a larger game tomorrow.

Overall I'd say it's great, plenty of opportunity for narrative and slick mechanics (once you learn them) but we could see very quickly it would be much better with 3-4 players. 2 player works though, but the meta game of a 3rd or 4th person is surely what this game is about. :)
