Wow!Its gotten so ridiculous in the US companies are checking peoples purchasing records and denying employment to people with chronic health conditions. The healthcare industry uses the billions they rake in to lobby congress and run TV commercials all day long trying to convince people decent healthcare is communist. Between 2007 and 2008 the healthcare industry spent 1.34 BILLION dollars on lobbyists.
Ralph Nader exposed how auto industry was conspiring to not provide safety equipment, such as seat belts, safety glass, padded dash boards, etc. He showed how all companies were motivated, perhaps obligated by corpartal duties to share holders, to maximise profits. And thus none of them could take the plunge because of the cost. And thus none did, until the laws required all to do so, and leveled the playing field.
Seems health insurance in US has become dysfunctional.
