  • Fantastic is all I can say ! In listening to him and reveling in sheer beauty of voice, I am reminded of another quite famous & talented treble who later became one of the best counter-tenors in the history of the modern CT. If you haven't guessed - I speak of Max Emmanuel Cencic ! I wish Louis well, as he is a multi-talented performer and has within himself a gift that can only become better !

  • Fantastic SInger.

I notice his eyes sweep the audience every line. I suppose if he's performing for the UN it's diplomatically important to give equal eye contact to everyone, each line (lol). That, or he's reading a 20 meter teleprompter.

  • you are awesome singer

  • Louis-Alexander Désiré is the best

he just a little boy , but he can speak english and franch

  • Singing that piece as a boy soloist is much better than singing the aria of the "Duke of Mantua" !

That is my opinion and my invitation to visit my channel...:)

  • Louis alexander desiré the best, le meilleure

  • His voice is darker than 2 years ago, fitting more the alto sound. Obviously Louis alexander has entered the voice mutation. For most choir boys the end or at least interuption of singing career but not for him. It's very interesting in which direction his voice develops but if he continues his entrainment he will become one of the best opera singers of the 21st century, better than Pavarotti, Domingo and Kraus. My hope he focus his skills to the baroque opera.

  • Louis-Alexander brings me to tears with that last note every time....no matter how often I hear it.... He is magnificent!

  • Louis alexander tu chante trop Bien :)

  • I LoOvE THIS sOong!!!!!!

  • I love his voice and performance. I have looked on amazon and can't find any cd's of his. Why did Billy Gilman, Declan, Choir Boys, Joseph , Libera put out cd's but not this kid. He is great.

  • He has put out a cd! i can tell you more if you need me to.

  • i think he does have a cd with vox angeli or something like that.. not a soloist but has a cd

  • i can't help myself to watch it again & again & again unbelievable performance ! :)

  • but its just a hymn surely?

  • with the careful and constant attention which has obviously already been devoted to louis-alexander's magnificent instrument there can be no doubt that it will rise once again with flawless and powerful technique to give more pleasure than ever. i long to see it in action one day. his masterful use of vibrato and dynamic combine for an outstandingly accomplished outcome

  • Is there a possiblitiy to buy a CD with this song on it or just song as MP3? It's absolutelly amazing and beautiful, everything the the interpretation music and also the text. It draw my attantion and I could not stop watching it. If Louis-Alex would do concert or public performance somewhere close I would even go there. It's like a fresh wind - compared to many current singers and singing-groups with meaningless songs and poor performance. Louis-Alex can sing and he can do it very well.

  • he is at the very pinnacle of his career and must derive great satisfaction from the knowledge that he has achieved such greatness before the irrevocable loss of his beautiful organ

  • Louis-Alexander's voice change, when it happens, will be the BEGINNING, not the end!

He is looking forward to his new man's singing voice, whatever it happens to be and has been suitably prepared for this both physically and intellectually.

  • When that happens, may be all sure, the Pavorotti will finally have an heir. I am sure that, if he chooses the path to an adult singer, he will be a professional reference at the age of 30, and an unanimity at the age of 5o. I can easily see him grown performing to Kings and Queens, LifeEarth-like events, and so far so on... God has made him a potential, and his parents cutted the edges untill he is a diamond! Great Job Désire family!

ps: I am anxiouly to hear him live

  • You are right, it does seem sad that the organ will eventually give way and drop - but there is enough technique there to show that he can control such an eventuality and let it show in all its glory. The voice change will represent a glorious movement, the loss of an organ it maybe, but it will present a glorious French Horn.

  • i guess you are speaking figuratively. in orchestral terms, the comparison between the instruments in the upper registers of the woodwind section and the horn is, in this context, very well made, although personally i think a good tenor is more like a trombone.

  • yes this is a seminal moment for us all

  • I think, speaking figuratively if I may once more, that it will be more easily comparable to the glorious French Horn. it creates a sound world so enormous, and the huge bell masks anything else.

  • as musicstarriver says there are one or two areas where pitching could be improved. however such a fundamentally clean voice will inevitably mature. i dont believe that anyone would dispute that this is a tremendous performance and there must be so much more to enjoy, echoing the sentiments of musikskolar i can only say deo gratis

  • but he is not singing in tune surely?

  • It is astonishing that such a young boy can deliver so breathtaking a performance. The use of dynamic is entirely stunning and the tone is simply bravura. How fortunate one is to witness such talent. From the very first note one is swept up in a torrent of musical emotion. A heart wrenching performance which will surely bring tears to the most cynical of eyes. Bravo Louis Alexander et encore si tu plais!

  • i know exactly what you mean - the black and red together. such atmosphere, its entirely divine. this is louis - alexander's best shot so far. his voice is maturing in tone but retains, as chettle has mentioned, an innocent purity which one rarely hears these days. there is a definitive spirituality here. i absolutely love it!

  • Yes I'm glad they chose red blinds with low lights, it makes the whole thing that much more tasteful, signifying nothing else at all (particularly in the heart of Paris) except purity of spirit.

  • more than simply shades this boy has had an excellent grounding in the belcanto tradtion.i particularly enjoyed the way the vowels are covered creating a warm authentic sound. out of interest, who is the pianist? he is really very good indeed. you are quite right about the blinds chettle, they are very nice. i myself have similar drapery in my study. the string crossings are very well managed and the whole piece dances along appropriately.

  • There are shades of Italian Opera tradition in this performance. Magnificent technique with a lovely clear rich tone. Excellent accompanist too, he creates a blanket of sound perfect for the song. I love the decor too, those red blinds are a must have.

  • How joycefull his voice remains! Trully wonderful The Lord made this angel of music!

Louis-Alexander, once again, my deepest congratulations!

May the world rejoyce on the living blessing named Louis-Alexander Désire.

  • indeed and one must make every effort to see him before his voice changes. i was fortunate enough to stumble across his magnificent recital in paris in august. so much rich colour and pleasing shaping to enjoy from this self assured boy. one wonders if he will perform again this year? if so i shall most certainly be on the eurostar. L-A you are simply divine. ad dei glorium

  • Indeed

  • beautiful song, great singer, great pianist. Boy, alexander is growing up fast. Thank you for another wonderful video.

  • The pianist is indeed splendid, but to my mind,it is louis-alexander's intelligent interpretation of the complex piece which is truly striking.the tone is warm and this is lyrical from the start. he communicates the song so well using appropriate facial expression. intonation is sure and the emerging vibrato adds convincingly to the tonal pallette.if he can sing like this now, one can't imagine what greatness the future holds. a young schipo is amongst us. deo gratis

  • The man playing the piano is very good, Louis is lucky to have him!

  • what a tremendous talent this lovely young boy has. one feels priviledged to witness this truly magnificent performance. we must forgive the occasional lapses and focus instead on the inate musicality of this outstanding young genius. how rare it is to discover such a charming and unspoilt ability . this boy was born to sing at the most prominent and prestigious opera houses of the world and i look forward to being part of his audiences for years to come

  • why delete?

  • One exhausts the vocabulary trying to find words sublime enough to describe Louis-Alexander's singing. MAGNIFICENT will do for tonight.

I feel no end of gratitude to "mustmusique" for posting his videos.

  • I couldn´t agree more rioamigo, I tried my best to express in Shakespeare language my feelings on his work. However, only the language of Balzac may be able to. Meanwhile, a word from the language of Camões: deveras bela sua voz é, seu trabalho, inefável!

  • you are fantastic!!!

    amazing voice, you are fabulous!!!!

  • Wonderful to hear Louis sing in English! This is the first on YouTube, I believe. Please, someone post other English songs (even old recordings) from the great Louis Alexander !

  • There is a You Tube video of Louis singing the hymn, "Amazing Grace."

  • Yes, and it is a graceful to hear it

  • Thank you for sharing Louis-Alexander Désiré at his best, as usual. Just as alonelychild has said.

  • Once again Louis-Alexander performs with a magical belcanto voice. I could say it was impressive, despite the fact that those who know his work, like I do, would expect nothing but excellency. Not disapointed at all I am. Great job Louis! Magnifíco! Bravo!

  • Excellent! Très émouvant!!!

  • The fantastic performance !!!

Great voice and beautiful song !!!

    5*****
