And what a stunningly beautiful spot to live! Glad you didn't go with the burning idea, looks like there may be some sound timber there (difficult to tell from video), not to mention the unnecessary carbon and wasted heat energy (save it for log burner when it's finished). We should ALL live like it! Blessed be!
You should just burn all those sticks which will help increase the depression. Cut a small fire lane around which will serve as your EarthShip perimeter and prevent you burning something you don't want to. Save the ashes for garden/soap applications. Another idea you could join with the EarthShip is looking into the "Low Impact Roundhouse" which has much of the same design components. This is an awesome project I look forward to following your project. Good luck!
@mtbwarrior Thanks for the tips! I'm afraid you're a bit late with the fire suggestion, not that it didn't cross my mind. Colorado is a notoriously dry state, I decided that anything short of a fire truck on-site wouldn't be enough preparation for what could happen.
I'll look into the "Low Impact Roundhouse" but I have a hunch it's very similar to the "Earthship Hut" model I'm based my design on. The hut has a how-to vid on youtube if you search for it.
@ponczo93 Hey thanks, the point of the vlogging it is so other clueless geeks (like myself) get an idea of what's all involved and to help keep myself focused on the project. Stay tuned!

Is it on your own land? Do you need zoning permission?
draoi99 7 months ago
@draoi99 It's on my uncle's land, zoning isn't an issue. If I build something over a certain size, I'll need a (retroactive) building permit.

I want to see you finish that looks very interesting.

@nycrackhead I'm not your daddy, but I'm going to go ahead and assume it has something to do with language comprehension.
