Could someone please explain to me how a "black box" could benefit me? I just bought a brand new LCD/LED flat panel digital SONY television set. I have service cables that run throughout my house, but instead of paying for COX cable service, I just use rabbit ears antenna to pick up the local signals which give me about 15 channels.If I bought one of those illegal black box de-scramblers, would it then give me channels for cable tv? Help me. I want to buy one if it's worth it.

With all the racist comments aside I have FTA and would not think of stealing any prescription TV. First off, I have Directv anyway and don't watch it most of the time, and secondly, I love the FTA and OTA channels more and watch them more. Direct and Dish are trying to eliminate OTA so you have to pay to watch your local channels or get FTA channels which is on C band satellite right now. They tried to stop the sales of FTA, but Congress didn't buy it.

DCT (Digital Consumer Terminal) are used now and are addressable by the cable company via IP addresses. So black boxes won't work anymore. Also most companies are phasing out analog bandwith all together so that will no longer be available for people who steal. Ha!

All you need is broadband, router, a computer running WinXP, Dualcore AMD processer with 2gb RAM plus 30GB hard drive space. I am canceling TIme Warner on 7-5.
