In hindsight, I probably should have directly quoted it from the book. Either way, the Beatles were a big influence.

@MT8ER2 Kurt was very much influenced by The Beatles. You would know this if you had ever read anything about him. The recording itself could not have been on a Beatles album, because it is obviously too grungey, and the lyrics would not have fit, but the song itself, the chord structure, was very much influenced by The Beatles. I actually didn't just make up that it sounds like a Beatles song. A music critic said it in one of the original reviews. I'll have to dig up my old mag for the quote.
