We know, that by definition, God is the Creator of all things. Many Christians believe that Jesus' divine conception is proof of his divine nature, however based on this logic Adam would surely hold more right to that title, as he had no mother or father. God is the most Forgiving, the most Merciful amonst many other things.

As you seem to know, the compilation of the New Testament was basically a series of books that integrated what the people of the council of nicea thought God should be portrayed as. It was also at this council where the status of Jesus was decided upon, i.e. to elevate him beyond that of a prophet to a divine status
