personally, i wouldn't think of the music any different based on the drug that inspired it, who the fuck cares? call a cop. if it was something i'd done i guess i could relate in diffferent ways but i've never even seen heroin.
ramblings continued, i think its great if rock stars abuse crazy drugs, make awesome records, burn out/die before they start to suck.. just my opinion. the one's that don't die are evolution in action and the one's that don't do drugs usually weren't that good to begin...
@306ness hi... Ill try....citation:"i think its great if rock stars abuse crazy drugs, make awesome records, burn out/die before they start to suck.. just my opinion. the one's that don't die are evolution in action..."...Theres no evolution in that. Dying or surviving a drug-abuse, depends almost entirely on random luck. Most who die, do so because they mistakenly take an ovedose, get infected or the drugs are unclean and noone could have known beforehand. Thats one reason drugs are dangerous
@capnreefer yeah..and Hendrix too. I lived and breathed Hendrix as a teenager.
Btw. Have you read "the natural mind" by Andrew Weil. Its an interesting read about drugs and drugproblems as a whole. I can only recommend it. Its not con or pro, its just very interesting...
@306ness ...continued ... (youtube doesnt support much damn text!!)...saying al that, means that those surviving drug-abuse aren't nescessarily better or worse than those who die. They are just lucky, thats all. When things are random like I explained thers no evolution...haha omg...a lot of words!...just your word "evolution" triggered me... no offense
think about the people involved in this project and the setting in which they jammed/recorded it. you could name just about any drug and i'd lay my money down that it was severely abused in the making of one or all desert sessions. just a stab in the dark!
@fuckamericanidiot yeah, i sure hope not. actually i don't really care cuz josh seems to be rockin in the free world just fine, whatever shit he uses.. but too many epic musicians have thrown their lives and carers away with that shit, seems to be the big time rock star miracle potion of choice.
@306ness there is absolutely no way that josh uses heroin, whether he has tried it or not I don't know I can't say. Does he look like a heroin user to you?
...based on my *extensive* research, which amounts to watching old interviews with the stones, jason mewes, brad nowell and kurt cobaine... they all looked like any kind of stoner/musician up until the brutally advanced stages of their addiction.
hey here's an example just came to me, youtube josh's interview on sarah silverman's show and tell me he doesn't look like he's havin a bad trip, on something heavy...
@306ness have you done (or abused) drugs yourself? You sound very clever, but what you say is quite revealing. If you ever tried doing heavy drugs, you would know that collaboration (and playing cool music is a collaboration) is just not possible. There is so many stupid myths about drugs. These myths are more dangerous than the drugs themselves.
@WaterPocket Yeah, sadly, I've done my fair share of drugs. Nowadays I stick to good ol beer and weed when I wana get loose. I also play music myself. Writing and playing music has been possible for me on hallucinogens, sedatives, and stimulants alike. But i hear what you're trying to say, I;m sure this world is full of kids who thought they could get completely fucked on heroin and instantly become Kurt Cobaine, and I'm sure the jam didn't go so well.
@306ness haha...I hear you :-D. Good muscians might use or getting inspired by drugs, but doing drugs doesn't make you a great muscician! Wish the kids knew that.
I might take it, that you played by and for yourself, when craking your stuff? I mean, just watch film-clips of great muscicians playing while high on drugs: They THINK they are the tits, but its really bad compared to how they perform otherwise. I think there is so many examples ... ok Ill be off again ...
But remember, different folks react differently to different drugs, in different settings.... Not believing this to be true is probably the most dangerous of all misconceptions about drugs!
@PIGd3stroyer Hello friend. You seem to lack knowledge of the Desset Sessions, heroin and vocal cords. I am not a doctor put i would prescribe more school. Youre knowledge of music however is superp. Good luck!
I think I can answer this - Chris Goss was a producer of QOTSA - Crater Lake is a lake in Oregon California and Loo Balls the singer is from the mountains - Kings and Queens (of the stone age)
I believe (don't quote me on this) that it's the Eagles of Death Metal before they were the Eagles of Death Metal. Really all the Desert Sessions is a collaboration of musicians from the Palm Desert scene. More of a series than an actual band...
Oh I am very aware of that, but ill be honest I'm not a big fan of the Eagles of Death Metal compared to Kyuss/QotSA.... I was just wondering if it was like the Eagles' line up maybe? So like Jesse is doing vocals?
