I agre with Shadow Arceus Tikal did not die she sealed herself in the Master Emerald so she did not die actually Knuckles and Tikal have to spend thier life together since Knucki has to protect it so really hes protecting Tikal

I guess as someone who has feelings for a girl who's "beyond reach" (although in my case not trapped in an oversized gem) I can relate to Knuckles! And I imagnie that in S & K, when he grabbed onto the Master Emerald as Robotnik was taking it....he wasn't just guarding IT...he was guarding HER!

Sure, go ahead. As I said before, I can't look at that scene from the Hidden Palace zone in the same way anymore! And it kinda shows that Knuckles is...angsty, tormented. He puts up his "tough guy" façade...as a coping mechanism.
