The whole audience laughed when I saw this in the cinema. But I'd still LOVE to have been a rich young stud in 1930s Hollywood...spending Father's money on booze and working through the beautiful starlets
Agreed, the best part of The Aviator! What an unusual way to film this, having the singer stand up into the frame! Makes me positively giddy every time I see it! The three members of the Wainwright family -- father, brother, and sister -- each perform musical numbers in this film, representing scenes and styles in three different decades. They must be very proud to have been part of this magnificent movie.
Yep, He really gets off on the fight. I think he must have happy feet....Still, spooky as hell. Kubrick does this shit as well. A simple scene becomes part of who you are. Spooky.
You ain't kiddin' I saw those scenes from that club, hard to believe this was real, but hey, they'd look at today's metal rock, and they'd shit their pants. Oh well there's no accounting for taste. That guy singing "Happy Feet" looks absolutely spooky. They were on SOMETHING, and it wasn't just booze. In the movie, the scene when the fight breaks out, look at the band leader. He's flyin'... HOOOO! Dem wuz GOOOD drugs then.
OP here, I thought it was like Rufus Wainwright's Dad? I remember looking into when I first posted this.
Either way, this part of the movie caught me completely off guard and I was ON THE FLOOR crackin up haha. Rewind-- watch again... Rewind-- watch again...never gets old!
Ha ha, I know the bassist. He didn't sing the song, but he's the bandleader of the group that performed the recording in the movie. Vince Giordano's Nighthawks. Check 'em out if you're ever in NYC.
is there a reason why im seeing so many fucking videos off of peoples TV sets!?

It's awesome and memorable because it reminds everyone that white people are so fucking lame.
