This an absolutely awesome technique! I just found my rub on stuff, and was wondering what I can do with it, and you given me one way! The effect is so neat! I can't wait to try it! I don't have real chipboard, but I do have something similar so I'll try that.
Do you have any other ideas that I can use the rub on stuff? (Sorry, I can't remember the name!)
I love this technique. I will be trying it this very day. Thank you so much. I also want to comment that you have done an excellent job of the video itself. Thank you.
I recently watched your video on the two beautiful Mini's, and saw this birdcage. This is the best idea.... and your tutorial is so easy to follow. The best part is that I have all this stuff (I need to use what I have). I can use this technique on my other diecuts too.
@creativepzazz Believe it or not I use an old Sony Cybershot. It is a still photo camera with video capabilities. A newer version would do a better job I'm sure. I've had it for year. i use a regular tripod, I don't know the brand, but my husband got it for me at Best Buy. TFW
OH... I this technique is SOOO cool!!!! and you made it look so easy! Now to find a project I can try it on! LOL... Thanks so much for the great tutorial!!!! :D
@iowa2308 Susan, it is super easy and fun. Give it a try and show us when you make a project using it. I'd love to see something in one of your minis like this :o) TFW!
@smscrapper I don't have the alcohol inks. I'm going to give it a go and try food coloring, acrylic paint or something that I have on hand. I hope it will work - I do love the distressed effect it gives and I can only imagine what one can do with this technique! Thanks again so much!
@Cinfulwayoflife Yeah it does, and with the great variety of alcohol ink colors, there are so many looks you can get. It's an awesome and fun technique :o)
OMG that is amazing. I need to get all the supplies inorder to do this, but I have to wait until after income tax return, because I promised to take a break from shopping until then. Which I am ok with because I am having so much fun staying in and learning so many new techniques from you amazinly talented ladies. Big hugs and lots of love.
Wow! Love this technique! So worn and distressed looking! I'm going to have to try this and go out buy that metallic rub and buff palette because that's cool too, Lol! TFS ~ Gayle
@MademoiselleAsphodel Hi Carole! I'm glad you like the technique enough to try it :o) When you make something please share a video with us to show us your creation :o)
@cynthialoowho Glad you will try it. If you let it air dry, it will dry as a smooth surface. It's a different look for sure, but still really nice. When you make something, please show us :o). I'd like to see the technique on one of your projects :o)
Hi Sharon, I use the Metallic rub-ons all the time, they are fabulous and so easy to use. Thanks for sharing your technique I'm going to try this tomorrow :) great vid xx
Great tut! I'm positive that I've seen this technique before but I don't remember it looking so cool. It must be the way you do it. I have some Aleene's clear gel glue & of course more alcohol inks than any one person will ever need. I even have all of those rub n buff's. That never happens to me. I usually end up having to buy something. I hope I have the time to try it out this weekend with my key or hinge dies. Love it! JIL
