players and a few descent ones and after finding the right positions and the tactics I just mentioned, we played like barcelona keeping possession 70% almost every game and scoring good amount of goals even against sides like lyon and marseille. it was a real joy to watch so I'll be really interested to see the sunderland team gets to winning ways with this formation/tactics. that will kill the fluidity of your game and you risk losing balls at the wrong area. as for the runs from deep, make your full backs and wingers gallop forward often. that will create holes for the centre mids to pass thru. the centre forward should be "rarely" making runs because his job should be to check deep to the midfield to receive and create space for other players to take advantage of as well as scoring goals. again my team dijon which just got promoted to ligue 1, had full of shit

also something i need to mention about the individual player instructions: if player x's tackling ability is 1-10, you make it easy 11-15, medium, 16-20, hard. the same for long shots. however, the centre mids always have to try thru balls "often" no matter their attributes because that's their main job and the more thru balls the higher the amount of quality passes out wide or to the lone striker. and very important: never make your defenders/centre mids dribble "often"

and I've really micromanaged my team tactics and all that stuff and we played like mini-barcelona. what you do is you manually change the player instructions, tempo, width, and basically everything so you possession, attacking style total football that wins you games. personally I set my team mentality to very fluid(which will set the mentality of all the players at the same rate for total football), starting strategy to control, shorter passing, more disciplined(which will balance out the

been a fan of this series for a while now.. great to see u managing a more challenging side like sunderland. and seeing stats on ekdal, seems like a great player so maybe he's not fitting into that centre mid position?? i highly recommend the modern 4-3-3, with the usual back four and one central defensive mid player with 2 players at centre mid plus two players out wide as wingers and a centre forward. this worked greatly with my french team dijon in ligue 1.
