Governor Mark Sanford has an excellent record on fiscal issues (A from the Cato Institute), but on economic issues South Carolina has consistently lagged behind most states, and far behind regional competitors. I hope Haley or Sheheen show some flexibility and less ideology when trying to create a more favorable business environment. Sanford also ran to clean up corruption but has had little success. SC also needs a governor that can cooperate with the legislature unlike Sanford.
