its a question of impovrishing the people gradually or giving them the right to risk losing it all. How can it be right to make new maps and force people when they control the weather and can make it rain almost anywhere.
@DeatonChuck Its not the people who screw up and bought homes they couldn't afford its the banks who gave people the loans when they knew full well the people couldn't afford them. The banks also knew that the government was gonna bail them out and screw the homeowner.
Show me where, anywhere, that FEMA requires anyone to have insurance of any kind.
Americans buy houses they can't afford then can't properly insure the house. The house floods and the owner just moves on, leaving the mortgage and a damaged house.
@DeatonChuck FEMA might not come out and say it but they know if anyone that has a mortgage the mortgage company require it. FEMA and the banks work together to screw the people. I have had flood insurance on my home for 17 years and it took a real flood to happen for me to see just how useless flood insurance is. I pay an 1400 extra a year for something Im lucky to get 10% of what the damage is and it does not cover personal property.
Well of course the maps are flawed.. you have a out of control government bilking American's.. buy the damn stuff and then have the Insurer tell you you aren't covered..
He took a 100,000 dollar mortgage. If he didn't have a mortgage,no one would tell him to get any insurance. He could stop paying the mortgage. Save all the money until they evict him. Buy a place free and clear. You can get places very inexpensively now. Live within your means. Live Well. It's the best revenge.
Yep I wanted to go without the flood insurance since I had no problems since I lived here as a young child... Now I have no decision cause I have a mortgage with Wells Fargo, Wells Fargo told me I had to have flood insurance cause FEMA said so. That was my understanding. I thought the whole idea was suppose to have the freedom of choice... yes you do but it would cost you plenty which is really no decision or freedom whatsoever.
So you are not responsible for your actions? if you want insurance or not is not really up to you...FEMA tells you wether to get insurance or not...wow...that is bad...
and the funny thing is that other people said, yes, I do need it, that is what should happen, people taking their own responsibility and not the Government telling them what to do.
