  • Has anybody out there got the entire programme of this mock BBC news programme? Could they upload it please.

  • Jesus this is chilling stuff.

  • Sellafield is closing down thank GOD

  • @TheDavechip Yes but still be highly radioative for many years to come.

  • Who cares about Ireland? Sellafield is but 10 miles away from me!

  • this scared the shit out of me when i saw this at night

  • Judging by the bad safety record of Sellafeild's past this drama is really chilling stuff. The reprocessing plant has already in the past few years, have contaminated both the Irish Sea and the near by fishing villages that surround the plant in Cumbria.

  • What docu drama is this from the Beeb? If there is any more of it please upload. This is certainly pants wetting stuff. I really hope this never becomes a reality

  • @Professor6871 It was made by RTE in 2006!

  • Yes Ireland would get it if the wind was blowing in that direction at the time if Sealfield blew. But the wind would eventually change direction and bring all of it back towards England.

  • I'm Irish and In proud.

  • the whole thing sowed the low mentality and ignorance not only of RTE but the "Irish Government" (nothing new there), in the form of "Joe Jacob", the man with no answers. As to the program we had a very long laugh when it showed "contaminated" people being brought in contamination and all . Could they not have got some one from Irish Rad Protection Board or Civil Defense to advise (but do they know?), One must be thankful Eire has no nuclear reactor. (dja.)

  • @F4foxbravo995 the country is not called eire

  • when the hell did this happen??

  • @johnam55 The mockumentary was broadcast in 2007.

  • @bacabu30 2006

  • When I saw this first, I shit myself and phoned my mam, SCREAMING down the phone.

  • @Rexel2828 we know where you live you'd better start checking under your car LOL

  • @Rexel2828 Are you actually serious?

  • Will somebody upload the drama on to Youtube ?

  • I'll always remember turning on the tv in the middle of this and thinking how i could get as far west as possible!!!! I was sure Ireland was going to become a radioactive wasteland!

  • AXA / OSG Ireland HATES CHRISTMAS !!!

Click on User Name to see RTE FOOTAGE !!!

    from 2006 !!!

COME ON RTE DO A FOLLOWUP !!!!!!!!

    this is NOT spam

  • i thought this was very fuuny when it was on rte , half of the people i knew went mental when they saw this cause they missed the start was well funny cracked me up

  • love it only the people of Dublin are the only ones mentioned, nice one rte

  • Is there any more videos of this anywhere online? I would like to see this film. It looks scary but interesting.

  • i neva 4rget dis du ye rememba all d dubs who were trapped in d pub drinken lyk fuc does ny1 no were i cn get it???? thanks

  • whats all this jibberish, mate

  • I never forgot the first time I seen this. I thought it was real, I had missed the start of it & had no idea what was going on. I was runing all around the house closing windows & doors. The English are determined to finish us off.

  • @abcjbc it was a brilliant mockumentary. it was like when war of the worlds was first played on the radio all those years ago and people thought actual aliens were attacking the earth...

  • hey cud someone upload the whole documentary or tell me wer u buy it or somenthing??? please i really wud apreciate it... send me a comment telling me thanks.

  • yeh there was something odd about it, wasnt real just a made up documentory

  • i dont get it ?:Lol did it really happen?

  • No, it was a documentary about the possibility of it happening.

  • no cos i would be dead.actually i live in north west ireland.if sellafield did go up would i be fucked or safe?

  • To survive you would have to shut all doors and windows and use tape to cover any holes.

Then you would have to stay in the part of the house that is furthest away from outside walls for about a week.

When you go outside, wear rubber boots, and a dust mask.

    And finally, leave the country!

  • thats what the "survival kit" for nuclear accidents says, right...

windows, some wood and little concrete cant really protect you from such an amount of radioactivity if youre within the dangerous zone. (see tchernobyl/prypjat... those people were fucked!)

plus what is one doing if not having food at home? there are single people who dont shop big in advance :( plus the tab water will be contaminated as well!

    aahhhhhhhhh)))

  • People in Chernobyl weren't given a warning. Kids were playing outside, rolling in highly radioactive grass the day after the accident.

If all holes on outside walls are covered, the fallout won't get into the house. And If you are far enough away from the outside

walls, the rays won't reach you.

  • But yeah, if you don't have enough food or water you are in big trouble.

  • @Stefnir94 your talking about nuclear bombs, as the radiation will stay around for years if something like this happened! An immediate evacuation will be put in place for effected areas.

  • The radiation would be dangerous for years, but it would only make the affected areas impassable for a few days.

But if the government evacuates the area, then evacuate.

  • @Stefnir94 You'd be talking about millions and millions of people having to be evacutaed, which would be a logistical nightmare to undertake, especially so for a small country like the Irish Republic.

  • are these actual presenters or actors?

  • they are

stephen cole is now with Aljazeera english

  • Exellent. Very well made, not sure.. how. But very good.

  • ok yeah i'd be screwed if that happened.. me living on the east coast!!!

  • was a good show though for rte anyway

  • TomthatiscalledTom, i think u need to get your facts right. You could fly a plane into a nuclear reactor......and absolutely nothing would happen except a few explosions from the plane. the nuclear core is covered by lead 4 meteres thick, then concrete; which is designed to entomb the reactor. so dont worry about plane attacks!

  • why would thebbc focus on Ireland when Sellafield is in England...

    Who wrote this crap.

  • cause sellafield is on the west coast of england in cumbria. and hypothetically speaking, the wind would blow the fallout over to ireland. its just an example of what could have happened.

  • Because it was an irish made production, in light of the growing scare among irish about their safety because of the plant. It was part of an Irish campaign to close it down.

  • well it was written by an irish broadcaster for an irish audience, it came at a time of great debate about the safety of sellafield due to high cancer rates on the east coast of ireland and a court case re transportation and safe storage of nuclear waste so close to ireland. Aslo if the event had happened with the described NE wind ireland would be hit severely as bad if not worse than many parts of britain

  • @Owwmykneecap It wasnt the BBC, it was RTE....and there has been a campaign in Ireland to shut it down for years.... Does anyone remember those postcards to Prince Charles and Tony Blair?

  • ?Whats RTE?

  • radio television eireann

  • ohhh...im such a tard.

  • lol

  • ye u are lol only joking RTE is an irish tv and radio station

  • radioactive tard education... sigh.

  • @sockbucket The main broadcasting company in Ireland.

  • Way to stereotype Ireland. And lol at ur account closure. to rexell28

  • does anyone hav a copy of the programme or know where i can watch it?

  • england could'nt run a bath, they cant even run a country properly.

  • they seem to manage running that english one.

  • they seem to manage the BBC.

  • That may be the case but our backward country is able to run an education system. It teaches children to start a sentence with a capital letter and use an apostrophe in the correct place when using a contraction.

  • You got pwned, yt9891.

  • @yt9891 shut up and fuck off you ignorant cunt

  • i watched it like half way through and was callin family,

    ha

  • oh yeh u can tell its a fake when the creaters cant resist to add them siren sfx on views of disaster areas, interestingly them kind of sirens in this clip are mostly usa based sirens

  • The title of mock bulletin gave it away for me....

  • The 9-11 bomber Khalid Sheik Mohammed said that the original plan for 9-11 was to hit 10 targets in the USA with planes...including an unspecified nuclear reactor somewhere in America. A plane flown into the storage tanks at Sellafield could make large parts of northern England, Wales and eastern Ireland uninhabitable. And what's Brown doing? Building a new generation of reactors

  • alot of variables about nuclear safety and attacks on nuclear plants. Alot of disinformation coming from green groups over nuclear power, especially re waste and safety, information that has been exaggereated especially re waste. Might be our only viable option soon

  • stupid... right, and both tchernobyl and majak where totally made up and it never happened like the holocaust never happened.... tztztz

  • Anyone know where I can get a copy of this docu-drama? I missed the first half but I was quite impressed with the second.

  • if you find it, tell me aswell, its brilliant

  • this scared the crap out of me when i saw it first on tv.. untill i copped on, why werent the bbc worried about the uk?!

  • caus winds carried d radiation was blown towards ireland
