Out of the 51000 Polish POWs in Russian camps during the same time, around 20000 were also killed. Same numerically, but not percentage wise. I will also mention that in neither of those cases were executions ordered. So tell me, how does that justify the ordered execution of 22000 Polish POWs in Katyn?

@stariyczedun Bullshit. Read up on the actual figures accepted by both Kremlin & Warsaw on Polish Soviet War casualties. Max number of russian POWs that died were 20000 out of 85000. Out of the 51000 Polish POWs in Russian camps during the same time, around 20000 were also killed. Same numerically, but not percentage wise. I will also mention that in neither of those cases were executions ordered. So tell me, how does that justify the ordered execution of 22000 Polish POWs in Katyn?

If I recall correctly almost all of your country became a part of imperial russia and was effectively non-existent till a century later when it was reconstituted after ww1; and even then you were incorporated into the USSR not long after the allies partitioned europe following ww2. i don't know about you but it seems like russia got the better of you guys in the long run.

In Poland, most Gediminid families (such as Korecki, Olelkowicz-Słucki, Wiśniowiecki, Zbaraski) are extinct, but at least three families survive to the present: Czartoryski, Sanguszko, and Koriatowicz-Kurcewicz.

The Jagiellonian dynasty was a royal dynasty originating from the Lithuanian House of Gediminas dynasty that reigned in Central European countries (present day Lithuania, Belarus, Poland, Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia, parts of Russia (including nowadays Kaliningrad oblast), Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia)

@snupsas You didn't wrote anything, that I don't know. Nowdays Lithuania isn't that, what it used to be in medival. Elites of GDL were polonized and it is fact. If their descendants are Poles, how could you say that their heritage is Lithuanian. Big part part of nobility in GDL was ruthenian as well (not lithuanian). Some of nobels of GDL used to say about them self "Gente Ruthenus, Natione Polonus". You should read something about modern polish nation.

@liegus1 Lithuanian nobility and citizens of big cities were polonized. Nobility spoke in polish. Masses in church on Lithuania were in polish. In the end, constitution of Third May changed country name to "Rzeczpospolita Polska". Ethnic lithuanians was less then 10% of population in Commonwealth. Do you really belive that, Lithuanians had real power?

@snupsas Maybe German census of citizens in Vilnius from 1916 was as well incorrect?? It says that, Poles were 50% of citizens , while Lithuanians were less then 2%. Why big part of surnames among lithuanian nobility ends on "ski", which is ending of polish adjectives. Another mistake?? For example Czartoryski, this family is descendants of Gedymin. And after all, constitution, which changed name of country for "Polish Respublic", that was accepted by "lithuanian" nobility as well.

@knezevic31 Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was elecitve monarchy not absolute monarchy. It mean that all nobles votes and choosed king from ranks of Polish noblity but also from noblity from other countries if they was candidates. There was many elective kings of Poland from other nations like Sigimund Vasa from Sweden or Istvan Bathory from Hungary. Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth has noble democracy system. Read books.
