A shame Michelle exaggerates what she does at GSK. The group she is in does very little for turning a molecule into a final product (or dosage form). Michelle has the reputation for asking really basic questions and not adding much value.

What is the difference between a biochemist, chemist and a chemical engineer? It sounds like this engineer just turns the fancy chemical into a pill so are the chemical engineers the practical or process side of the work?

Chemical engineering is so broad. You can live like a loser doing any kind of work for corporations. From product developing for corporations, to cost saving for corporations, all for a mediocre salary. I'm in, Where do i sign ?

My fav of CHEE is applying chemical stuff with math and use for the real world. The dislike bout CHEE major is time consuming and exhausting at the end but it is worth it

I would never do chem eng again life- Chem eng did not workout for me.

lack of focus is what i did not like most about chemical engineering. Cant be a master of everything

CHE is also research field. Not many hardcore chm eng NON research jobs out there

The retio would be 1 Chem eng to 100 mechanical to 100 civil engineers. Process guy runs the process imulation everday, while it takes more man hours to do mechanical, civil and electrical work

Don't worry about first year because usually it's just the general requirements to get into the upper divisional science courses.

So, just work hard and study hard. You can still have a life outside of school, just manage your time well enough to get your work done.
