My 1988 GP is like yours only I got the 5 speed. Its awesome. The rear tail lights leak into the trunk from the top. I just used some duct tape to bridge the gap between the body and the lens and took care of issue. Enjoy motoring!

just watch out those cars are know for bad 2.8 v6 engine i had to replace mine at 155,000

@mxpxpunkrock1987 They only go bad because they develop bad oil leaks from the oil pump drive shaft seal and people starve them of oil... if you fix that seal you have nothing to worry about, just keep up on normal maintenance. I have owned 5 3.1/2.8s and out of all of them this one was the quietest and smoothest running.

@lioookm its a well maintained reliable vehicle, i really don't see anything wrong with that. It seems to be in good shape, the only thing you were right about was the fact that it is old, so good job on that. so, i have a 1991 grand prix GT, and i was wondering why i also have the body matching color rims. are they rare because i dont find them alot, and if i do they are on older ones like yours. do you have any info on them.

@tsw44 I don't think theyre rare. Ive noticed them on 88-91 Grand Prix SEs. The LEs have the chrome rims.

the parking brake light may siginfy the brake resivor is low or the system has a leak somewhere.

@UBBERTANKER The brake fluid is full. I disconnected the ground wire for the parking brake and it went off.

I love GM. I think its interesting that the fuel gauge, speedometer, and odometer are digital yet they left everything else non digital...huh.

Its got a sweet radio, and sweet climate controls.

very nice ride those door handles are nutorious for breaking and the radio volume control to stick my parents had the le model with the 3.1 i think it was black with p/l p/w it was a really nice car good luck man have fun
