I'm building a special shim cell right now that will harvest the gases separately to test the concept. It will have Iconel 625 for plates, parallel config, driven from my PWM through a step down transformer and half wave rectifier.
In the meantime, I have some smaller solid nickel plates that I plan to test RIGHT AWAY! Just as soon as I clean my bench off enough to actually work on. Got PLENTY of electrolyte saved up though! =-D

Settle down people. No one is making jokes about piss for hydrogen. Urea in piss is a viable source. I bought the complete published paper from RSC*ORG. Cost me BP27. Worth every penny. I'll be doing more experiments based on this electrolyte soon (pure crystalline urea rather than piss. Smells real bad anyway.)
If only... would be great if the vapor could indeed be recycled but i beleive that the apperatus needed to condense the vapor back into H2O would be hude and very heavy and so this extra weight would negate any benifit gained, so back to square one :S

About 6 months ago, a research engineer at MIT accidently stumbled across something. He coated the plates with cobalt and noticed that electrolisis was able to begin at 1.2 volts. according to him, cobalt is an abundant element but he didn't offer any clues !!

Instead of exotic plastics for cell casings, have you ever investigated photo cure polymers? They are very durable and heat & chemical resistive plastics once cured.
How about increasing the voltage greatly with a capacitance discharge similar to one or more auto ignition components. The frequency could be varied and controlled. Don't know what would happen at the higher voltage but it may change the plate spacing in the HHO generator at a minimum. Just thinking out loud.

Been awhile, was doing some other research. I have a suggestion on any system created for HHO output, artificial neural networks. Using the cell's power as a recurrent network, it can be trained on-the-fly to produce the most HHO versus the lowest power output (fitness test). Why waste time crunching numbers only to find that heat changes your entire baseline, while a neural network can change over time, driving, rain, hot days...etc. Let me know if you need help.
ive been wondering when someone is going to try something more exotic then 316L. In a device like this there is a lot of expense just to use SS. Other materials that could be used are things like Gold, and Platinum but cost would be huge. The best idea would be to make 2 cells idenitcal 1 from SS, 1 from say platinum (maybe 2inch square) and run them identically and record the results. Then extrapolate the figures on a similar scale, when SS is scaled up.
gold and platinum would be fine to prevent corosion, but silver is cheeper, and is the most conductive metal natrualy. excluding of course forced super conductivity
i was under the impression silver wasnt corrosion proof enough, not like gold or platinum. In that case, Silver makes the best base to experiment with. Still exy but considerably less than the other options i posted.
that is true, silver dose corrode, unlike gold or platinum, the upside to the corrosion of silver is that it dosent bind to oxygen, but rather sulphur, creating silver sulphide. so provided you stay away from an electrolite with sulpher in it, it should stay pristeen. even though ss dose resist oxidation, it is still iron, and will over time become iron oxide. oh! it just hit me, silver plate cheep steel plates with silver or gold, couldnt be too expensive and i say may be worth a sml test cell!
The current price on NYMEX for stainless steel is 46 cents per pound. Platinum in 12,720 dollars per pound. So platinum is 27,652 times more expensive and would only put out about 5 percent more HHO.
while total production increase is a good thing, im thinking more along the lines of efficiency. Im not one of those people who believe in free-energy. Free-energy still costs money. At what price do you put success? Its more money then ill ever have though, hence the idea for a small scale version

I have a question please. Is it possible to run a generator off HHO and have that generator extracting more HHO than it takes to run it's self so you could produce extra power from it? As i understand this should not be an issue as it would simply use up more water.

This looks like a major step up . ya should look into magnetic low drag alternators . from what I have seen they are even more efficient than the regular car alternators.
