We are kind of in the same boat. I just arrived to my new apartment in Seoul AND.... I leave in the ghetto. Right next to the US military base.

Is this the first time this school has had Talk teachers? Usually they have the room set up already. I always thought the school/government provided for the accommodations in their budget. But I guess since it's 6mos it's work out.

@JamConcerned good question...I wondered that too and foundout that the previous scholar got married to a Korean teacher atthe school so I guess he didn't use the housing offered after they got married so the school didn't have housing available. They will be giving me a bed and something to cook with after TaLK gives them $ and the microwave is at the school I just didn't need it in a hurry to take it with me today since I had to move all of my stuff

Wow! First thing I thought was.......She doesnt have a kitchen. >_< I guess you had to give something to get something. You dont have much space and no kitchen, but youre closer to the school which is a plus during winter.
