This video didn't word things correctly. If Qin Shi Huangdi became the first emperor of China in 221 BC, and "nobody seemed to object for 34 years" (44ish seconds) would seem to mean that he died in 187 BC, but he died in 210 BC... I think they mean from the time he was ruler of the Chinese state of Qin, starting at 246 BC... That would bring us to about 210 BC in 34 years... Anywho...
That last part was wrong by the way. It wasn't just time that caused the army to be in such bad shape. Like three years after Emperor Qin's death the rebel armies that brought his empire down stormed the complex and raided it. They then set fire the the mausoleum that supposedly raged for three years.
I saw some of the terra - cotta statues at the 1982 World's Fair in my hometown in E. TN, but this couldn't be beaten.....
Impressive, Shih Huangdi was a tyrannical, paranoid egomaniac who had no trouble killing anyone who opposed him, but yet he united warring nation - states & tribes into a single nation.
If you get a chance to not go there, but 'experience' this site...we were trembling ,my entire family all the way through...Its was like they 'knew' we were there and looking at our every singlemove.
Ifyou have the means to go,pls, before you die, you must experience this spectacleof historyon planet Earth...forget sleazy trips to the Carribean or garbage like that, thats for the immature of mind...do this and get back to us!
been there, quite awesome, I knocked over one of them by accident, and i offered them my ----- in restitution...the lil nippers bit for it,and now i have a terra cotta head as payment in my study in Liska, UN.
I have seen the warriors and it is an awesome sight. What the Chinese have unearthed so far is a small amount compared to what's still under the ground, hope i'm still around when that happens!
It sucks soooooo much
