Pomp and Circumstance is actually a royal promenade - graduation ceremonies adapted it from English royalty. I think the whole Greensleeves/Parsley Sage, etc is just them doing a riff on English tunes.
I've heard Greensleeves at church and The Beatles' song, "All You Need Is Love" when the violins and cellos play Greensleeves twice during a longer fade-out. I got it on a single, you guys.
