  • Chamomile tea!!!! No caffeine and it will relax your mind :)

  • i think this guy is an idiot...

  • I only take this shit because weed is illegal..

  • how about using herbal things...like valerian root ...

  • @YsahsCreativeHobbies lol that shit is well... shit

  • Is it wrong that I took some sleeping pills AFTER watching this video...?

  • Is it wrong that I took some sleeping pills AFTER watching this video...?

  • 'Pills here!'

  • i have to take pills at least twice-three times a weeks. i take the sort of herbal ones, 1 or 2 depending on how 'awake' i feel on the night.

just can't goddamn sleep- even the thought of lying down and switching off is repulsive. sometimes pills are the only things that send me into a good enough state of relaxation to sleep. no side effects really.

exercise does work, but i have to do so much in order to rest well, like an hour of hard cardio or running. cant do that every day.

  • You don`t need pills. Just listen to to this when bedtime.

  • i just bought some strong over-the-counter sleeping pills! i damn hope it works.

  • don't take pills made by evil corporations, just start meditating and do shrooms

  • @big919b do shrooms really make you sleep?

  • sleeping pills weaken my anxiety attacks so I could give a damn what the side effects are.

  • Well I'm sorry but I can't sleep

  • Lunesta would leave a bat taste in my mouth for the whole day.

  • @lennychef Me too. and the Zolpidem caused amnisia and sleep walking and I would take more because I would not remeber I drank any!! so not worth taking!!

  • Lack of sleep causes stress, cancer, and other diseases. Think about the side effects of NOT taking sleep aids.

  • @lennychef fuk u dnt scare ppl like that especially the insomiacs

  • I haven't slept in 32 hours. is that okay? I can't sleep. I get irritated in my arms and legs. Tylenol Pm it doesn't work. I'm tired, but can't sleep. This will be almost 48 hours right now. I'm so sleepy, but I wake right up when I lay down?

  • Modify your diet and get regular exercise, consider seeing a naturopathic Doctor, that's your best bet!

  • Yeah, it's always easy for you assholes to say "drink some tea or milk before bed" "Take a warm shower" to help you fall asleep, blah, blah, blah. The majority of people on sleep pills are on it for a reason, and that's because they have a disorder called insomnia. If I didn't start taking sleep aids, I would probably be dead. Before taking ambien, I was half awake during the day and almost got in two car accidents, which would've been my fault. People who need them, continue use.

  • Diet modification, exercise, drop all that extra weight you are hauling around. No need for drugs, you're just taking the easy way out.

  • @teeroy79 get free sleeping pills(oxysleep) just google pennywhiteonline and you can get free bottle of sleeping pills costing $6.95 but penny white pay you refunds your costs using there commissions for signing you up.

  • God people stop poping pills like candy to solve everything without doing some research...oh I got a headache I need a pill (gobble gobble) oh i'm having sleep trouble need more pills, and I need a pill to counteract that pill and so forth...next thing you know it you're a retarded monkey that can't remember their name with pill dependency...

  • oh but its ok they make a pill to help u remember ur name now

  • is it normal to lie in bed about 1-2 hours before actually falling asleep? or do I have a problem

  • It depends if you watch tv, eat, or exercise 1-2 hours prior to bed time you will have more trouble...then there is sleep apnea...one of many assaults on our body.

  • um i would have to say thats unormall beacuse i lay down about 5-20 minutes and im asleep

  • Comment removed

  • This helped a lot. The funny thing is I was lying on my bed, not able to sleep, thinking about sleeping pills so I got out of bed and to my computer to do a little research in the matter and found this. So helpful, thanks.

  • ps- i speculate that the sinusitis occurs w/ambien because it really dries up your mucus membraines, leaving them more susceptible to bacteria... (?)

  • What a brilliant guy and a great lecturer.. as a person with a scrip for ambien CR 12.5 mg i unfortunately TOTALLY agree with his stance,,,

  • how many pills would it take to kill you?

  • its people who going go about this shit, thats why we cant get sleep. i have been on xanax for sleep and panic attacks and stayed of them for a month and still couldnt sleep even working out etc. hes a fucking retard!

  • i love sleeping pills if you pop 12 and drink liquor then fight it off you get fucked up for hours

  • i took 5 i day

  • I have bouts of severe insomnia. We're talking days of not sleeping, without any use of stimulants.

I had this problem since I was an infant. Apparently I was given sleeping pills as a toddler! I never knew I was treated with medication as a child until recently.

I use Melatonin as a sleep AID and meditation now. I find this combo helps me develop good sleep hygiene.

  • i love Sleeping Pills

i hate dont know ?how 2 spell right

  • if u cant sleep just get some pussy, case close!!

  • thats nasty

    sex never helped my insomnia.....

its much deeper then wanting to get laid

and im more important then to just disrespect myself by using sex as a sleeping tool.......not every guy is a horny bastard needing sex to solve a sleeping problem

    get a life

  • or smoke marijuana its completely normal.

  • i disagree 100 percent......marijuana use to calm me down but me and many others with long term use we now get pairnoia and anxiety hwen smoking marijuane using marijuna as a sleeping aid is very unhealthy for smokin weed every night is not good for the lungs at all or throat...there are over 400 chemcials and it is harmful marijuana may be a plant but its not as innocent as u think...its screwed up many peoples lives..pce..u dont HAVE TO agree with me so we dont need to argue

    pce

  • its srewed up many peoples lives LOL name one person that has ever died of marijuana.and whatever u were smokin probably was laced wit somethin else and u didnt know,im talkin about PURE weed not laced with anything is completely healthy, plus i dont smoke every night im not a fiend

  • @fhab525 he probably meant that people go to prisons for years and years for marijuana alone. Its sad but its america...

  • To rely on the pills alone is just stupid. But ultimately, they still have their place in the treatment of insomnia and sleeping disorders. Just like all medications, THEY HAVE SIDE EFFECTS. That does not mean that they suddenly lose their place as a treatment option for us desperate group of people. They don't stop cancer drugs because of the severe side effects, do they?

It is always going to be a balance between whether to treat the condition and the side-effects you MAY experience.

  • there's a much better way to overcome insomnia, it's called Brainwave Entrainment, you can give an audio I uploaded a listen to before bed (and no I'm not trying to sell anything) it's free, I just like sharing with people...

do a search for my video

"Need help Getting to Sleep, and having a Quality Sleep?"

maybe I will post it as a video response on here....

I listen to it every night before bed, and I fall asleep FAST, and I wake up a lot earlier than I use to, and I'm 100% rested

  • if you click "More info" on my video, I have a link to an MP3, that I made from my Brainwave Generator program.

it does frustrate me that people think there's no way it can work, but believe me it works, but they are too ignorant, to EVEN TRY it, or they wont look up any info on it...

there's not ONE night I go to bed without listening to Binaural Beats, I'm not addicted to it, it just works so well, may as well listen to it.. you NEED headphones tho

  • I can't even really describe how I feel in the morning, the best I could describe how I feel in the morning, is I feel like I'm wide awake, like I'm not groggy , as if I have been awake for a little bit, you just need to give it a try really, people can speculate all the want, and make false assumptions, but until they actually try it...they don't really know..

believe me I get a lot of people that say "That's stupid" and they haven't even tried it!!

    anyways, lol

  • Usecori is exactly right. Try living a life like that for 22 years and let's see what your praying gets you then.

Pills are not the ONLY tool in the box, however, and not the only piece to the puzzle... They should be combined with light therapy and melatoinin supplementation, as well as excercise, good sleep hygiene and discipline.

  • I have had severe sleep disorders for 22 years. I've been through sleep disorder clinics twice. I'd like to know what the lecturer would do if he's gone 6 days with no sleep. I was hallucinating and was hospitalized. I know that with sleep meds I am a safer driver and have far more effective brain function. I agree that it is a catch 22. But I am far more likely to have a life with meds than without. This disorder has totally altered my life. I have high adrenal gland function-being eval.

  • Hi use I was just wondering have you ever tried prayer? I will pray for you.

  • and i'll pray for the end of blind faith.

  • well with your condition i would definitly recommend sticking with the pills. But if anything try to get the ones with the smallest half-life, like he suggested. My mother takes them everyday, i want to try switching them w/ a placebo and see what happens. ya prayer would b good placebo too lol but the risks associated w/ sleeppills are interesting, though he does tend to exaggerate the bad effects, which is weird: "sleeping pills cause death" >_>;it was rather informativewhen he showedthestudys

  • You should watch this video, if only the first few minutes. Your self evaluation is likely to be flawed. Light therapy which this Dr. Kripke works with has had superior results. Unless you can prove pills work while light therapy does not, your remarks are based on misperceptions.

  • I have had insomnia for several years. I experienced the same as you when my condition was at its worst, not being able to sleep for several days. My insomnia is now manageable, but I still am unable to sleep without medication every few nights. While being drug free would be nice, I can at least maintain a decent standard of life while using them, whereas chronic unmedicated insomnia would be completely unliveable. I'd rather kill myself than go through that again.
