What DTV system is Canada going to?. But i wouldn't freak out over it. I left a comment on another of your vids, but simply build a db4 bowtie antenna. I'd have to look at what Canada is going to use and where the stations are going to be located frequency wise. If they are going to the same system the US uses, any UHF antenna will work best. Dump the rabbit ears. I did loose two stations to DTV though, which sux. You're tuner will need enough signal to be able to decode the information...
When you say 20 miles do you mean a tv station w/in 20 miles?. I don't think there's a tv station within 50 miles of me. I have one of those digital boxes that are suppose to allow me to watch digital tv on an analog tv. I think that's what it's suppose to do. Any ideas?
August 31, 2011, canadian channels will be forced to go digital. Your antenna will be obsolete, the 4 channels you get will be clear and you might get a few more channels. Here's hoping
@TheTroubledTroubador So are you saying,I'm wasting my time with these antennas,Is there no digital channels to be picked up over the air in our area or are not sure about that, cause I'm not really sure about it!
@jakeanddar Check with the guys a future shop or best buy (if you're closer to Dartmouth Crossing.) I just regurgitated what i heard on the news a while ago

@jakeanddar Hi Jake I live in Ontario (Toronto GTA) any chance you or someone reading this can tell me if this works... my fiancee and I just got a house...but we're trying to save any money we can...can you tell me if this works I know now we have the digital channels in Canada...I live with my folks right now but were moving out soon can you tell me if you get any free channels with this and the quality
@satchelmuffins If you're using an old tube TV you can still use regular rabbit ears as long as you have some kind of digital receiver. If you have a newer TV i.e. flat panel plasma,LCD chances are there's a digital receiver built right in and any regular rabbit ears will pick up digital channels,I know this because I have a 1 year Plasma TV with the digital tuner built in and I'm only using my homemade coat hanger antenna and the digital channels come in with better then 80% digital strength.
@jakeanddar HI thanks for replying Jake...Just one last question I saw this PHilips indor antenaa in the flyers this week...I have a 42" Samsung 720 p Plasma it's not the newest model (maybe 3 years old) can you tell me what if any chanes you get? I know I'll probably pick up CTC, CityTV and CBC, but any American channels i.e the big 4 CBS,ABC,NBC and FOX? Thanks for your help-they were just talking about this topic on the radio so I thought i'd give youtube a shot and came across your video.
@TheTroubledTroubador Hi any chance this works I want to buy one won't be able to afford cable when I move out I live in ONtario Canada can you or someone tell me if this really works free channels and is the quality any good? thanks
@satchelmuffins We went digital in Canada recently so an antenna is obsolete. Check a place like the source or future shop, they can get you a digital converter box for relatively cheap so you can get your basic channels.
@blowgunking1994 No not right now,so I thought I would mess around with a different antenna ideas to see what I could get for channels. Apparently if you have a good enough antenna you can pick up quite a few channels for free! Later
I have a 42" SAMSUNG it's 720p so it's not the newest model will this work I live in Canada Ontario GTA
