This video is very helpful to me because I was asked by my school's principal to recite this in an upcoming school program . Now I know how to recite it much better. More power to filipinos (half or full) all around the world!!!!!!!
@Martharosa86 my teacher in rizal asked the class to recite this poem for our midterm. And I agree with you that this video is highly recommended:) and to the one who post this video. Thank u so much it's very helpful.
I'm hoping that all Filipinos should realize that Spanish language is part of being a Filipino. Let's start learning again to speak & to write in Spanish as our alternate national language and also use it for our advantage.
I'm an 11 year old student of Ateneo de Manila University and I honor Dr. Jose P. Rizal. They call me Little Rizal. I pay so much tribute to him. Mabuhay si Dr Jose Rizal!!
I am proud of you. You embody the youth who Rizal said is the fair hope of our motherland. Will be glad to hear more about your hopes, dreams and aspirations for our beloved Philippines.
you know what, this is our professor's punishment to those who cannot pass his quizzes. i am doubting that i can pass, due to the type of test he gave us awhile ago. so even im not yet sure, i must start memorizing 7 stanzas already :(( :|
thank you very much sir! I listened to it! You gave a very "heart-felt and soulful" rendition to the poetry... i am humbled to recommend this rendition to be played at he National Historical Institute... May i take pride to recommend it sir? Thank you.
It is not complete! The final three stanzas are not here. In fact, the very next stanza is just tremendous, after he talks about his ashes being part of the country.
Then it will not matter that you forget me. I shall cross your atmosphere, space and valleys. I shall be a vibrant and clear note to your ear. Aroma, light, colors, murmor, song and lament. Constantly echoing the essence of my faith. Splendid!
Milordvega- Thank you for reminding me that. Of course I am aware of this, much so because the last 3 stanzas were the most stirring, emotional rendition. I am still having problem uploading part 2 but will do so when my techy nephew returns from his extended vacation in Manila.
Salamat muli.

I live in Costa Rica, a country to the west of the Pacific Ocean, am an Latin American person (American Hispanic), listen to this poem, and I sit like Philippines and the Latin countries, we are brothers peoples.
The Philipines accent, gives a very special flavor to this Spanish, really it is very exciting to listen this proclamation, a verse full of enthusiasm, of nationalistic love.

PS: Beautiful music!---Meditation de Thais by Massenet.
832existentialiste 14 hours ago
@832existentialiste
And of course the other two (following "Meditation" from Thais) are equally compelling arias: Pecheurs des Perles and Visitarte from Puccini's Tosca.

a very lyrical interpretation; bravo!
we all recited this great poem individually during our Spanish II class during college days.
More Power!

Looking forward to that! And of course:
Dad gracias que descanso del fatigoso día;
Adiós, dulce extranjera, mi amiga, mi alegría,
Adiós, queridos seres, ¡morir es descansar!
Incomparable.
