I think I may have found a way to make a video available in high quality without the "watch in high quality link".

First I went to WWM. Then I went to options and change the aspect ratio to 16:9. Then I saved my video as "High Quality Video (NTSC) with the settings being,

File Type: Windows Media Video (WMV)

Bit Rate: Variable Bit Rate

Display Size: 720 x 480

Aspect Ratio: 16:9

Frames Per Second: 30.

Then I converted it to mp4 with different software. With a display size as 1280 x 720...

Okay, what I was saying was, it takes about 10-30 minutes to save the video as a 640x480 on the XP version of Movie Maker. The Vista version of WMM is faster. It takes 4-10 minutes to save a 640x480 video on Vista. But I've figured out why it takes so long on XP. The processing speed with the XP version of WMM is slower.

No matter what I do so far, my videos on YouTube look like crap. The videos I upload are my own works and the master videos are recorded in full DVD.

On the hard drive before uploading, the videos are near HD and very sharp and clear. Then I upload them, which takes awhile, and then when I can play them back, crap city.

Guess it wasn't meant to be.

Good video but that much effort is not needed. It also works by simply using a 640x480x30 wmv und uploading that. Also you first exported to MPEG and than compressed again. So the overall quality is lower than it could have been.

I couldn't get it to work.  I uploaded my video from Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 into a 640x480 with 30fps, but when i drag the file into Any Convertor, it converts it to MPEG2 and nothing else; it won't let you change it, or the frame rate.

For me it takes up to a few hours for the high quality version to appear. For me, I exported to 3000kbps or so WMVs (640x480, 30fps, no interlacing). If you need specifics of the settings I use, send me a message asking for whatever you need to know.

Other options likely work as well (potentially better).
