Yeh I was there backpacking solo in 2004 and Hurricane Mitch (I Think?) Followed me as I tried to do some fishing and completley washed out the river banks leaving fishing not so great.
Gorgeous area you have there - met a really cool fishing guide who is local, but unfortunately I lost his contact details..
Maybe ill return someday to Black Bear campsite for nostalgia and the people. :)
