  • if it was rare grove delited it wouldnt be that bad

  • your audio!! sucks ass

  • I don't know Karate but I know Ka-razor! LOL, this song came out during the height of the Kungfu fad!

  • @shaaronie hope you meant to say "Ka-razy" otherwise you've been mishearing things

  • @Chamomileable

But James Brown definitely says "Craze-a" in the song...rhyming the word "favor" pronounced "Fave-a"

  • No! The lyrics starting from 3:25 are "Don't do me no damn favors, I don't know karate, but I know Ka-razor!

You hear 3 syllables, not two! James always rhymed his lyrics, not squeezed them in to make them fit. He was pitting his straight razor up against Karate moves. Why is that so hard for you to get? Favor... razor""". Come on ... I know crazy!??? That's crazy!

  • @shaaronie "I know ca-razy"

  • @captainpegs07

So how does someone protect themselves from some one who knows Karate by knowing crazy! Come on now. He was saying he would cut them with a razor! How old are you? Apparently you didn't grow up in the 70's!

  • @shaaronie For the longest time I throught he was saying i know Ka-crazer or something sounding like, but after u said he was saying Karazor I listen to that part twice and yeah that what he said Karazor you can hear him clearly say that. The thing with James Brown lyrics in his songs you have listen carefully because you wont always understand what jame brown saying because he will say word so fast you think he saying something else but turn out it not that word. Thanks for clearing that up.

  • @SlimDON1182

Thank you! In several of his live performances of this song, you can see he and his entourage miming a knife!

  • @shaaronie You welcome, oh ok i will look out for that when i watch some the live performances of the Big Pay back on here again.

  • @Chamomileable

No it's you. Notice how all of his lines rhyme through out the entire song. Favor and razor rhyme. Favor and crazy don't. It was a really popular song during the 70's and the karate craze was also big. So James said, "Don't do me no darn favor. I don't know Karate but I know Ka-Razor! Not crazy. How do you know crazy!? He was saying he would pull out his straight razor and cut up the guy who knew Karate! Get it! Get it!

  • @shaaronie break it down shaaronie! a straight razor was quick, and clean, and hard to stitch up

  • "Payback" ... I sure'd like to do some of that !

Some of em sure gotzit commin ! But I'll just keep hummin - hope'n my time'll be commin ... to give some of (my) - "Payback.' - RIP JB
