Melrose Place, the original version at any rate, deserves to be lauded for the absorbing and evocative masterpiece it was. I have never seen another show that gave its female characters such incredibly thoughtful attention - these actresses were like the movie queens of the 20s and 30s - showcased as STARS and given the stories. I felt like these people were my real neighbours - none of these characters were glamourised in the least. They were so real, so tragic, so ridiculous and so human.
i loved amanda and kyle so much... in the new version amanda is pathetic, jane has become this bitchy person whcich she never were so it doesn't make any sense, and michael who was funny and corrupt and always ended up being a victim but who was never mean is just this pathetic mean dangerous pervert. They've all become the worse and saddest versions of themselseves and i hate that. I used to love them so much! why the fuck would they make them so bitter in the 2009 version??

It's right after she leans out a window to wish Kyle goodnight after their trip to the Dominican Republic and gets jealous when she sees Jennifer staying in his apartment. I think the end of this season is when Heather Locklear looked her best. No one can rock a tight white outfit like Ms. Locklear.

Watching season 5 vol. 1 on DVD, I noticed lots of changes. Season 5 was the transitional period of the show. Original characters were leaving, lots of new ones were entering. I know the show didn't really start to go downhill until after the finale, but throughout the season you could tell there were many changes happening.

Billy left woth Sam to Europe( I don't remember the country) for a new job . Jake left so he could run the diner in Ojai and also he was getting a divorce from Alison. Alison wanted to divorce Jake because she thought he was settling and not really happy to be without kids. She moved to Atlanta.
When alison is crying, looking into the mirrior rubbing her belly, why is she doing that? Is she pregnant? Also, is it possible to see the clip of Jane billy and Alison at the airport?
I LOVED THIS season... but it was so sad, seeing all the characters leaving at the same time, and no farewell parties, or really good goodbye's... (just Jane, billy and alison did it great in the airport)
