  • when i run the bios it says DRAM frequency 1066mhz and my Ram is 2000mhz and im a noob at clocking it

  • i have 6gb of ocz gold at 1600mhz 1.65 volts 4ghz i7 920 ht enabled and 8 threads and really i never use more than 4gb but if you have 1600p resolution or 3 monitors you need it to stay at a fast fps with the more graphics cards you have you need more ram and really if you have 1080p monitor you dont need more than 4 gb

  • That's BS guys

there is NOTHING buggy about DDR3

i've now been on Corei7 platform since end of last year and tripple channel 3GB and 6GB kits have been perfect :D

  • more good advice stick with DDR2

the VHF in DDR3 makes the modules unstable and buggy. the frequencies are just too high

youre also better of with buffered RAM

BUFFERED RAM CACHES MORE DATA than non buffered ram 500MB of buffered ram can gold 2x more data than 1GIG of non buffered ram

  • don't get more than 2 GIGS of ram for your machine it will get buggy and cause crashes and many problems more than 2 gigs is not recommended by pros in the field dont fall for the marketing and hype to get more ram that 2 gigs on a windows system on websites if ram is going to be sold in huge quantities motherboard makes will have in integrate the gigabyte IRAM with battery back up concept to motherboards windows dont need more than 1gg sustem ram -2 gig max without getting buggy-

  • I have 12GB's of a RAM and never have had a problem at all.. I don't know what experiences you've had that make you think more than 2GB of RAM is buggy.

My system also uses up to 3 to 4GB consistently when VM is turned off

  • lol honestly what year do you think this is?...unless your using a crap no-name ram theres no way more than 2 gigs of ram (lmao) can make your pc buggy. Get your facts straight next time dude.

  • @860015 stfu dumass

  • @860015 Sure windows doesnt need more ram than a gig but most games and applications these days actually need more than a gig. Go back to your corner fella.

  • how much could dominator 1600 mhz 3x2gb sticks overclock? my friend got it on asus P6T and i was thinking 1600 mhz and lower timings to 7-7-7-21 and overclock to 1800 or if not just overclock to 1800mhz and overclock i7 920 to 3.3 is enoguh.

  • i have the exact same set up you do but i have the 1600 mhz memory when i installed the 6 gb 3 sticks it was at 1066 when i uped the voltage and speed manually i got errors.. how come mine dosent start out at 1600? im using both. is it because i need another stick? because you cant have 3 you need 4 stick? im lost... ive set the voltage to 1,65 and 1550 with 2 stick in the black slots but i want that other 2 gb what should i do?

  • Damn fast boot up

  • omg Im crying !

  • wow those are fast

  • Nice! I think the world record for DDR3 RAM is held by Corsair right now with 2400Mhz..Might be worth a try... :P

  • ye maybe dominator GT that costs 600 bucks ehh? xD

  • @UndeadGunz ddr3 ram cost 100 dollars for 6gb 1600mhz

  • Nice Overclock

  • this is just stock clock eeek :D

  • sweet, you should try overclocking the shit out of it. Ive no idea how far you can overclock DDR3

  • want to tell me some speeds you can get it to???
