Really thoughtful response. YouTube has degraded greatly in quality in the past couple of years, but at least there are still excellent video makers out there. It's just getting harder and harder to find them.

If you remember, the guys who started YouTube got to the point where they were going to run out of money because their operating costs for bandwidth and store were substantially more than their revenue. Hosting and serving this much volume of info costs a crap load of money, so Google has the right to cover their costs and make a profit. Like I said to MrChiCity, if you don't like, start your own site and compete. That's the beauty of the internet.

Dont feel guilty, commenting allows us to express our opinion like you said :) and people only text comment because:
1) They can't video response cos they don't have the equipment
2) They cbf videoing themselves at that point
So encourage us to comment aswell as video response because it allows us to connect with you and share our opinions with yours :) (btw i just subscribed and i hope to see more of you in the future)

it was fun hearing your thoughts on youtube and how things are going and how you felt about your subscribers and all. Thanks for posting. I get a bit overwhelmed with the whole youtube etiquette/culture thing. It's nice to hear what people who remember the "old" youtube feel. ^_^

I so agree with you and I don't think this guy wants to see our (the viewer) side of it.This video became all about him. That type of video needs to go. He could go ask Rush Limbaugh for a spot on his show.

I am kind of disturbed at your comment "how can yYou Tube have the balls"..etc.. when you are actually on YouTube,using YouTube video and time to put your message out. Do you know how critical that sounds? YouTube has the"balls" to do what they want because this IS their web-site,and they could pull the rug from under you anytime they want.

May be I don't understand some of your logic. But maybe it's unwise for YouTube to "pull the rug" from people that have meaningful,entertaining videos. If I have to listen to 5 and 6 minutes of propoganda then you are going to loose my interest as well as others. I truly understand the "freedom" of speach", don't forget the viewers have the same. I watched "chicity's video,then some other guy,I think it was Dan,and then 2 minutes of your ramblin."Freedom of choice" Merry Christmas.

Precisely! I am not looking for anyone's attention as mrchicity may have been. On the sidebar I clearly wrote "I really don't even expect my own subscribers to sit through this whole thing". Seeing as how you are not even a subscriber I did not expect you or anyone new to sit through it. I wasn't looking for that. I have a small following that cared to watch it all and quite a few new people that did too so I was pleasantly surprised!

I entirely grasp that fact my friend. All I am saying is that youtube is not what it used to be! That's all. And since this is my channel I think it is appropriate to talk about myself all I want... I didn't respond to ALL Of mrchicity's points because I do not agree with them all... the one I most agree with was how the community was dying and I elaborated on it. ok at 0:52 popped up your little blue annotation or whatever it is, listing the popular youtubers that don't put as much effort into their videos yet get all the advertisement. i disagree with you saying sxephil. although he does get shown on the front page a lot his videos give a quality opinion while being entertaining at the same time. it's shanedawson, thestation, shaycarl, etc. whose videos suck yet get all the attention...

Yeah I wasn't saying that those youtubers DIDN'T put effort -I was simply stating those are the ones you see on the front page most of the time... My point was simply that there is more on youtube than just them. I mean mrchicity3 gets featured from time to time and that's probably the only reason you and most people even saw this video, but my videos themselves wouldn't be on front page because I'm not a big name.

youtube has never said they were an non-profit organization, yes, they still feature people, but in a way of their best interests...
guess people should stop worrying about it, everything done is just according to the profits that can be obtained.

It's all good. I understand the video doesn't interest you, but you want your opinion heard lol even though you say you don't care if it's read haha ANYWAY... yeah man I get that their best interest is money, but lately they have been very hypocritical in the way they go about certain things, they have very many glitches, and just aren't the way they used to be. True that. Lots of my friends have had their videos muted. D: We should be able to freely post videos without fear of having our accounts suspended or deleted. Youtube should start doing what it used to, pay attention to its other users instead of just its partners.

I swear to god all i said was a question for the day. :| I was like how if you could change one thing in the past what would it be and why lol. idk.. If you remember, the guys who started YouTube got to the point where they were going to run out of money because their operating costs for bandwidth and store were substantially more than their revenue. Hosting and serving this much volume of info costs a crap load of money, so Google has the right to cover their costs and make a profit. Like I said to MrChiCity, if you don't like, start your own site and compete. That's the beauty of the internet.
