too bad the majority of the taliban took off b4 the operation began. Most Coalition casualties were from IED's. Once a coward always a coward i guess.
@Hippohateszealots cowards?? with the firepower the "coalition of the willing" have what else do you expect the afghans to do? they hit them from above, the afghans hit them from undernieth...
i went with 1/6 to afghanistan in helmand 08 and i really didnt like how Capt Sparks said he expects casualties! no commander should ever say that and send there troops into battle knowing that their company co doesnt have 100% confidence in the taining his marines have endured!
But at the same time, he's being honest. In places like Helmand or even Korengal, you're going to lose soldiers. But at least Captain Sparks doesn't want to lose his Marines. Also, in my opinion, if the Marines or soldiers or what have you know that they're going into a hyper dangerous area, they'll stay more on edge and that seriously helps in a combat environment.
I love my marine. I'm so glad he made it home. 1 more deployment and he'll finally be home for good- and I can't wait. I can't wait to have him never leave my side again. Semper fi- always faithful! <3
My appreciation and respect to the US Servicemen and the Allies is beyond measure.
