  • Nice video the "music" gives me a headache. Why does a promotional video always have to have background music? Otherwise nice BS video, but does everyone gett to be a pilot as the video pretends otherwise why go to law school, medical school and foolishly college beforehad? I have never heard music in 1\9 years of law practice in any courtoom I've been in.

  • @skipsassy1

It's not a promotional video for the Army, just something i put together for some friends while i was on the course a few years back. But I will definitely make another video in black and white, with no music just for you! That'd be much more interesting. You maniac. Funny that even though the 'BS' is so beneath you, you found time in your 'busy' schedule to not only watch it but also to comment. Of course not everyone gets to be a pilot. Music? In a courtroom? You complete nutter.

  • can you leave before the minimum 8 years is over and join the sas?

  • There is nothing to stop you. The two courses the Army is obligated to let everyone apply for, regardless of age, rank or profession, is pilot selection and Special Forces selection. Although after 5 years of training and several £Million spent on you, you may not want to and you might have a tough time explaining to the chain of command why they are losing one of their most expensive assets (eg.Apache aircrew). But it has done before.

  • what do the army use for fixed wing training now???

  • Air Trooper 482 lovely vid..i wish you all the best..tuff course..

    only the willing will survive...

  • I noticed at 2:34 the pilot was wearing glasses,

Is this normal? I am VERY interested in joining the AAC, but am worried about the eyesight requirements. Does anyone have any information about this? Google isn't being much help.

    Thanks!

  • SCREW HELIS ALL ABOUT FIGHTERS , maybe the Apache , but way that ?

  • @Deadlytacos

Yes perhaps you're right. What with the Tornado F3 retiring last month having never fired a single shot in its entire history. And the Raptor/Typhoon STILL waiting to do something useful. Those pesky counter-insurgents are known for their air to air combat and precision strike capability. Not like the UK Apache, Chinook, Merlin, Lynx, SeaKing & US Blackhawk, Cobra etc which have seen nothing but high intensity combat every single day for the last 6 years.

  • hey great video. Im finishing up the UH-60 blackhawk course for the US army right now. Looks like school is quite similar there as it is here. Anyways awesome video and flying. Look forward to flying with you guys at some point

  • I hope to be joining the British army air corps in due time, good luck to you in your flying

  • Hey, do you think I stand a chance in being a pilot in the army with an I.T degree? If not please tell me what I wud need. I'm from the U.K. W\B thanks

  • @av8r1000

Pedro crews are doing an awesome job out there. They're bullet magnets though! Good luck. See you in theatre.

  • I'm watching this for like the 5th time just because it's so epic

  • Its called - Ready, Steady, Go

  • A few questions for anyone that has a proper answer:

When you finish officer training can you go straight into the AAC?

Do you get to choose what you are doing in the helicopter like for the apache pilot and gunner?

Does going to uni improve your chances of getting on the pilot course?

Do many get to go on pilot course?

  • Few questions:

after officer training can you go straight in to the AAC?

Do you choose to join any of the regiments like armour or the aac or get given one?

would going to uni help me in becoming a pilot in the aac?

Do you have any choice in what you fly?

  • @SheepJumpFish

    Yes

You choose a Regiment (and sit a selection board at RMAS to see if you get in)

Uni is not a necessity though majority of officers these days are graduates. There are plenty of non-graduate aircrew though.

You can choose to some extent (Fixed wing/Apache/Lynx/Gazelle) but the 'needs of the army' will always come first.

  • Superb video. Could you tell me the name of the Oakenfold track please?

    Cheers....gentexsph4
