  • ive known about 917's for yr's but i never got to see the cockpit of one .

    extremely sparse extremely close.

remind's me of Messershmitt 109 cockpit

    lightness in everything.

    really similar to a 60's F-1 car.

If you arn't of med build?

    you can't get in..

  • so is the fan some kind of forced air induction for the carbs or is it just air cooled??

  • @stdavross666 it is the fan for air cooling no turbo!

  • That car is a legend ! Awesome car ! Porsche is a great car manufacturer !

  • what is this piece of music? Heard it for years, never knew

  • I have over the last few years watched the restoration videos of this car. I like the gentelmen that owns Gunner racing and the videos he has done, "well done" .

  • A" American restoreing it is sad" , what a Dick Head.

  • @rotax7804 no not A" American restoreing it is sad", it was restord by gunnar racing perfekt as you can see in the gunnar videos. BTW who is the Dick Head.?

  • @rotax7804 I was refering to a comment made buy someone else on here that it was sad that it was going to be in the hands of a Amerian. My statement was aimed at that astute person .

  • If there is a God.This is his race car.917`s are perfect.

  • oh god :( kept safe for 30 years, and now some americans "restore" it :( sad

  • @haarsje no it was restord by gunnar racing the best place for 917 in the US so dont worry look at the vids .

  • @haarsje Yes, absolutely tragic how they took a rotted, non-running car and made it driveable again. And they're American too! Horrible.

  • @haarsje oh be quiet, why dont you go restore one if you're so concerned. Geez...

  • @haarsje Some of the absolute worst restoration on classic motorcycles and cars I've seen on 25 years of working on them has come out of the UK and Europe. Over restored bodies with engines often full of worn out to just junk parts. Many people seem to restore vehicles simply to turn them into living room art objects. As far as cars go,I'm sure there's little difference unless done by people using the factory to help them. I'd trust a US based restorer over most European companies.
