  • worked perfectly! +1 internets to u

  • Thanks man!!! I didn't have isopropyl alcohol, so I tried with acetone. It worked like a charm! You saved me a lot of hustle

  • Thanks Siliconghost, it worked just like you showed it would. Blessings to you.

  • @GTC1958 No problem at all! Glad I could help!

  • THANK YOU

at first I was like WTF this isn't working 10 min later after watching some YouTube I came back, and it came off with a simple pry.

  • Great vid! I like that you used different material combinations to show how well it would work. All this time I have always been afraid of screwing up because, other than heating it up again, I wasn't sure how to remove it.

  • Does this work for fabric?

  • @elfsuicide Yes, it will work on fabric too. Just be aware that the alcohol may discolor the fabric.

  • That's the shit that bums drink...

  • can you use nail varnish removor ?

  • @EpicNam3 No, nail polish remover will not work. Acetone will not work either.

  • @siliconghost lol its ok i needed to unglue a bolt put i just ripped it out and all cam out as one peice xD

  • removing screws that a half filled from the hot glue is extremely easy....on shiny surfaces is a lot easier....so i need something more than that...lets try removing small thin cables that are fully covered by a big piece of really hard hot glue....if it work in this case and it can destroy the hot glue or melt it away or something like that and the cables are ok then i sure be a great customer...

  • @4evermetalhead It doesn't "melt" away the hot glue, but it does make it very brittle so it easily be chipped away at. The alcohol makes it loose the bond from nearly any surface (not just shiny or smooth ones).

  • Ok,

    1. That video helps alot. Many thanks.

    2. You have excellent taste in 8Bit Music! :)

  • I glued a tube of cpvc into another barrel because it was loose, any ideas? Some glue is in between the barrels/

  • @2Lazy4aRealName Try soaking it in rubbing alcohol for a few minutes. You'll then need some type of fine instrument to slowly pick away at it. Keep trying to wiggle the inner tube to break it loose.

  • Denatured alcohol works well too. We use hotmelt quite a lot at work for holding temporary fixtures (wood working) and denatured is how we remove the glue.

  • would tis work for getting hot glue off buttons? my buttons always fall off my bag, so i hot glued them shut, and i want them off to wash my bag. would this work?

  • @fishyaxley I believe it should work. Just beware the alcohol could discolor the bag.

  • @siliconghost thank you! i'll have to try it then :)

  • Will this work on cactus? The people hot glued a fake flower on the cactus and it recks the look of it.

  • what is that type of glue that dries white? that's used in bathrooms? i want to remove that

  • thanks, it worked on my glass doll.

  • hmm pretty cool, now i cant take off that modchip from my xbox controller :D

  • OMG IT WORKED ON MY DC MOTER

  • Insanely works!

  • thanks, i have seen hot glue used in PDR (paint-less dent removal) on cars!

  • @traxonja No problem at all!

  • Nice tip. Thanks. I would have tuned out after the first demo, but I loved the tune. :)

  • @jeriellsworth i would love to know who this song is by

  • @fatlip Follow the "8-bit peoples" link in my video description. You can find it there, and all their music is free!

  • @jeriellsworth Thanks Jeri! Check out more free music from the 8-bit peoples site linked in the description!

  • aha mr. spastic! I love that guy, downloaded the entire claps and leads album lool

  • @Blacklemon67 Agreed! Great music, especially for retro-gamers like me.

  • Will this work on plastic? I have a button that has a plastic loop glued on the back, I want to dismantle it to keep the decorative part (it's on the back of course, but afraid it might deform the plastic or paint in any way).

  • @sugarbunny515 Actually, it works VERY well with plastic.

  • Thanks so much. This vid was really helpful to me, as I recently found a great vintage mirror in a thrift shop, but it has ratty old "silk" flowers glued all around the edges! Now I can return it to its original (and more dignified) state. =] ~sky

  • @UAskygal Glad I could help!

  • nice! this will help me a lot

  • thanks bro
