things to consider: make sure its 1080p, make sure its got lots of inputs (hdmi, vga, etc) and get one with a good picture you like. :)

also get it from a retailer you can trust. as for brands, i'm a big fan of vizio! the tv I got from them is spectacular :D but, 1 tv is a very small sample size. go with your gut!
