There may be a lot of creative license taken, but let's be honest, to make a movie out of Dr. Seuss book, there has to be. Roughly 30 pages of material isn't a lot to go on. Personally I think it looks like a lovely movie and my nieces, who I've drowned in Seuss stories, are absolutely thrilled.

My son loves reading this with me. This movie looks ok but I really wish they would have left the whole big business thing out of it. In the original story it was a "family business" that destroyed all of the trees. These animated movies are usually good but IMHO the market is getting saturated with them these days. "Mars Needs Moms" did a big belly flop in the financial department and gave Disney a wake up call. Will see this movie but maybe will be waiting for the video.

Looks like a horrible bastardization of a classic book, with too much creative license taken in an attempt to make it more "current". And, of course, they have to put the requisite evil businessman in order to make the movie clearly a corporation vs. environmentalist showdown. Sad.
