  • Thank you John K and Shelly Long.

  • thumbs up if you remeber seeing this on The Disney Channel.

  • i think that "Troop Beverly Hills" (1989) would become released onto Blu-ray Disc in 2012 with a all-new "Troop Beverly Hills" loading screen, a Sony Pictures Home Entertainment logo, some previews for "The Smurfs", "Sony 3-D HDTV", "Soul Surfer", "The Baby-Sitters Club", a main menu, the "FBI Warning" screen, the "Views & Interviews..." screen and start of the movie.

  • The girl in the movie Jenny Lewis who played Shelley Longs daughter is now a singer!!! She was also in The Wizard with Fred Savage...So love this movie!!! Attention K-Mart Shoppers,,,Blue Light Special, aisle 13---COOKIES!!!! LOve it

  • One of the great animated movie intros , virtually unheralded. Often done in movies from the 60's.

  • The Beach Boys + John K = WIN

  • @kc86er - That describes every aspect of this movie. :-)

  • Only John Kricfalusi can make a woman like Shelley Long a cartoon babe.

  • BEST MOVIE IN THE WORLD!! was thinking about it recently and my parents got it off ebay a few days ago!!!! ive had this song stuck in my head all day!!

  • @kitTEEkat15 It's called "Make it Big" by The Beach Boys. It appears on their album "Still Cruisin' ", which also features their last big hit "Kokomo". The album is out of print, but you can download it off of iTunes and similar sites. Bear in mind the "Make it Big" on the album is a bit different that the one here on the movie, but still good.

  • @Highlander1G Thanks!!

  • @Highlander1G

Actually this version in someways is better than the album version

  • @CheesecakeFarini Some ways, yes. But I kinda miss the awesome saxophone. That's what this version needs.

  • @CharlesXavier

yup but the intro here is pretty good

  • animated by the same studio that brought you "Ren & Stimpy" lol

  • Wonderful Titles, directed by Bill Kroyer.

  • I remember watching this with my mom when i was just a little kid;and the world was never the same XD lol

i got it on DVD online for Christmas :D i watch it all the time lol

  • I worked at a video store for 2 years, and watched this on many Saturday afternoons!!! I bought the DVD in 2004 (I had a hard time getting it, so I had to special order it from the video store), and it has been well worth it!

  • It's beyond me why they never released a soundtrack to this movie. The music is awesome!

  • I know - "Cookie Time" deserved to be on a soundtrack!

  • I liked this movie,Betty Thomas was hilarious in This,"Attention K Mart Shoppers, blue light special on cookies".

  • 1:33 - Introducing Jenny Lewis.

    Now with Rilo Kiley.

  • And before this, she was in the Toys R Us commercial that everyone remembers so well.

  • OMG!! THIS MOVIE IS WONDERFUL!

IT TOOK ME AGES TO FIND THE SONG:

"Make It Big" - Beach Boys

  • It is available on iTunes in a slightly different version - I downloaded it two years ago - it's great!

  • i got it on a Beach Boys CD a few years ago! ;D

  • Was the album "Still Cruisin'"??

  • yup! =D

  • Thought so!

  • Love this movie soooo much!

  • yes! so fabulous

  • OMG this was the best movie ever!!!

  • This is my favorite guilty pleasure movie!

  • Eric Stefani also animated this opening.

  • Same here - plus it has the "Ren and Stimpy" feel to it.

  • It definitely does. I always found Kricfalusi's style of animation bizarre rather than funny. But I don't mean that in a bad way.

  • It's what kept Ren and Stimpy on the air, besides the crazy jokes - especially the "Log" segment. My ex would look at me strange if I talked about it!

  • oh dear, i LOVE this movie! you see i'm from argentina, and i didn't know ANYTHING about this movie, and one day my sister's like "you gotta see this movie! it's awesome!" and i recorded with my VHS, and i have it with spanish subtitles from HBO argentina! i LOVE this movie! and i love phyllis's outfits!

  • It is a great movie - even if it is slightly over the top, but in the 80s, that was to be expected!

  • I love this movie. I grew up with it.

    Thank you for posting

  • For those that don't know- Eric Stefani animated this opening.. he's Gwen Stefani's brother and was in No Doubt until after Tragic Kingdom was released!

  • Shelley Long owned this film and the character of Phyllis

Many think she made a mistake leaving Cheers for a film career but with gems like this & Outrageous Fortune to her credit I think she made a wise move

  • This is just an all-around great movie! I have the DVD, and it was totally worth buying!

  • where did you get the DVD?

  • I worked for a video store from 2003-2005, and I ordered it through the company we ordered all of our VHS and DVDs from. IT is called Ingram, but they only cater to retail outlets, not to individuals.

Best bet - try any of the online stores.

  • I was a Girl Scout for 8 years and when traveling to every camping trip we would watch this movie in my troop leader's van on her tv!!! This movie brings back such great memories!

  • i used to love this movie because i was a girlscout fun stuff

  • IF I were ever a scout, this would be the way I would want it.

  • Hello. Who sings the opening song? It's still great.

  • That would be the Beach Boys!! The song is called "Make it Big," and there is a slightly different version of the song on their 1989 album "Still Cruisin'." This is a GREAT song!!!!!!!

    And a GREAT movie!

  • Thank you for the quick reply. Love your channel.

    Best Wishes to you
