  • This one is hysterical.

  • LOL- ha ha ha ha ha.....

    You're one talented, crazy nut!!!!

I almost fell on the floor with this one!

  • How in the FFFFFFFFFF did I miss this one? I had a fan that actually did fall on me in my sleep one night. that was a load of laughs, after my heart was put back into my chest I carried the freaking thing over to my manager's apartment and banged on their door and handed it to him when he opened the door. That freaking hurt! No more fans above me ever again.

  • lol!

  • nothing worse than an unbalanced fan, I know I live in Vegas!

  • LOL that was excellent, the Marguis and I kept expecting that fan to fall! Beautifully done!

  • Pat, i'm definitely a FAN.

    5*

  • Though as I age and my saturated fat moves southward, I am much less imbalance. Yes, yes, I know... t. m. i.

  • "i am the walrus"

    "i am the walrus"

  • this totally made my day, and it's been a bad one up till now, thank you

  • good soundtrack.

"is that some sort of eastern thing?"

    "far from it."

  • Pat, this is my new favorite among many, many faves of your work. The clapper..... the CU of the chain at 1:15.... the overhead POV ( I'm still chuckling at images in my head of you duct taping your camera to the fan )........ genius. This is a gem.

Too bad I'm going to have to report you for the copyright violation on the song. Please don't take it personally, I'm still your biggest fan. ;o)

Wishing you and your family the very best in this new year.

    Peace and love!

  • Oh Tom! That IS a funny image (now that you mention it). A guy in the throes of mid-life crisis, shooing Willa out of her own bedroom so he can duct tape a camera to the ceiling fan and make a YouTube video. It's either funny or pathetic. I'll go with funny. Thanks my friend!

  • LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO oh man ur guud!! where do u get ur ideas??? From the vault of AWESOMENESS????? lol i kno that was lame but this video was AWESOME! i like it Pat great stuff!! lol

  • The vault of AWESOMENESS????? HA! That's funny. I'll have to use that.

    Thanks Josh

  • Ahhhh Pat, you do make me laugh.

    Signed,

Another big, imbalanced fan of yours.

  • Har, har, har! ;-)) Waaaaall, I don't think we'll hear the end of these FAN jokes anytime soon! *guffaw*

  • Thanks Scott. Imbalanced fan.....HA!

  • Ciao guardo sempre i tuoi video dall'italia e li trovo veramente divertenti... comlimenti...

    :-)

  • Poiché Patflix non parla italiano, ha desiderato che, "Molto grazie!"

  • Le mie scuse...ha desiderato che DICO VOI, "Molto grazie!"

Yikes--può il dio benedirlo con migliore italiano!

  • You can talk all you want about your "low-concept" malarky.

I'll keep reveling in your masterful examination of the way mere inconvenience can seem more severe than tremendous acts of depravity, simply because one of them is happening to us in the moment, and the other is contained in the realm of the written word.

  • Oh my!!! OUTSTANDING comment. I was considering a similar subtext just in case someone said the video was stupid and pointless. Your interpretation is far better than what I had in mind.

  • Edjarosu, you're stealing my lines! Wish I would've said that first...curses--foiled again!

  • 120 days with a loose creaky fan ? LOL !

    Great vid !

  • Hey, good one! Wish I woulda thoughta that!

  • HA!!!!!!!!

  • 42 comments and not one word about your choice in reading material--"120 Days in Sodom and Other Writings." Am I to assume you've been thinking about me again? If so, I'm flattered! I just hope your literary tastes don't have an adverse affect on Willa; inasmuch as I'm only a godfather to a goddaughter, I still know a father has to set a good example.

Still, it's but a prop for the imminent danger of a modern-day pit and pendulum. "drifting along with the tumbling tumbleweeds..." Gene Autry?

  • Once again, I thought of you when I chose that book. I read 120 Days years ago. VERY disturbing...but I finished it.

Not Gene Autry. Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers.

  • Of course. Shoulda known Autry couldn't have sung in harmony all by himself! Boy, am I red in the face now.

By the way, the comment from planisfero80, to wit--

:Ciao guardo sempre i tuoi video dall'italia e li trovo veramente divertenti... comlimenti..."

    --translates as:

"Hello, I watch your video from Italy all the time and I find truly funny...my compliments"

PM me with your response and I'll send your back the translation to cut and paste.

  • Nice :) Thanks fella!

  • Thank you.

  • One never knows what one is about to witness with one of your videos Pat. Bravo.

  • Thanks Peter. I never know what the video will be either...until I edit it. They never end up the way I had originally intended.

  • Pat I absolutely love your videos, they are offbeat, abnormal and definitely just a great time to watch :). Keep up the good work my friend.

  • Thank you very much!!

  • The secret is good editing.

  • Absolutely.

  • lol. face expressions are the best!

  • I was born with this confused-all-the-time look.

  • Well its kick ass lol

  • That there is just funny, I don't care who you are.

  • I don't care who I am either. Thanks Stevie!!

  • Huh? Oh I get it...that's a joke. :0

    LOL.

  • I'm a fan of fans. When it's too hot they blow the hot air away, and when it's cold, it move's the hot air around! But mostly I love their sounds, cause they put me to sleep. But yours would make me paranoid lol! Far out video again! Yea!

  • I always run a fan to help me sleep too. NOT the fan in the video. Too scary. I've got a floor fan that's much safer.

  • Excellent work as always but I really liked the pull chain shot.

  • Thanks. That pull chain really bounces like that. No fakery. Damn dangerous fan.

  • Brilliant as always. Imaginative and superbly edited. Where DO you get your ideas from?! (and please save some for me ...) Have a happy new year, and please let your new year resolution be to bring us lots more videos in 09.

  • Wow! Thanks. My ideas are more like NON ideas. Real low-concept stuff. Have a happy new year yourself!! Thanks again.

  • It's exactly the non-idea low-concept that makes your films so good! Only someone as talented as you looks at an everyday thing like a wonky fan and thinks, "I can make a video out of that" and produces something so hilarious and clever.

  • Thanks Lis. I think the only role I could play convincingly would be an old fart who makes stupid videos.

  • Sometimes I think it's gonna just shake itself out of the ceiling. Maybe I'll fix it in 2009. Maybe.

  • That sounds like something I would say "Maybe" lol (only one thing) Maybe never comes around

  • That was bizzarre Pat. Perfect choice for the music.

  • I'm glad you mentioned the music. I couldn't imagine anything that would work better with that fan.

  • gotta love ur vids!

  • Well...you don't really HAVE to. But I'm glad you do. Thanks.

  • Well, you kinda HAVE to when they're this good ;)

  • Pat, you're like the Steven King of YouTube; you take the most benign subject matter and transform into the bizarre and entertaining.

  • Thanks. Now that I've used that damn fan in a video I can finally have it fixed.

  • Well, just don't delete this video; I'd hate to see you with one less fan on YouTube. Haw-haw-haw!

  • HAW-HAW-HAW-HAW-HAW-HAW...aw Gawd, saxonmor, yoo're a GAS! ROFL x 10!!!!!

  • ..."one less fan on YouTube"

HA!!! THAT was funny. Corny, yes. But still funny!

  • Funny vid and song, as usually.

    Happy new year!

  • Happy New Year to you!

  • That was great lol

  • Thanks. I'm thinking of doing a series of videos about everything in my house that DOESN'T work properly.

  • That would be great, I can't wait to see them

  • lol Awesome vid.

  • Thanks David.

  • you're old-school!

  • I'm just old.

  • Love this one, Pat! You really are a fantastic storyteller. You have the most wonderfully expressive face and your editing is perfect! Thanks for sharing.

  • Thank you MUCH!

  • ROTFLMAO! Fantastic! You are an artist!

  • Don't you mean 'artiste'? The 'e' at the end makes it sound more continental. Anyway...thanks Mike. I'm just a dork with a camera. You are the artiste. AR-TEEST!

  • Genius!

  • Thank you. I'll pass your comment on to my family. They think I'm insane.

  • Oh, I'm not denying the insanity, lol. It's just unusual for me that I would fund inspiration within it. haha Just kidding. Actually, in a weird way, you make more sense to me than most. "My therapy bills are going to bankrupt this family." HAHAHAHA.

  • That was hilarious! :D

  • Hilarious?? It was meant to be a serious commentary on the.......no, not really.

    Thanks!!! Glad you liked it.

  • LOL!! :D

  • very cool..

  • Thanks!

  • I love it Pat. Nice clipping. You are the absolute master of story telling without dialog. (You tubers look and learn). When I saw the vid title I was thinking "And something completely different". (Ooooo was that pythonesque?).

  • Thanks Stanley. I'm still not sure if the title refers to the fan or my mental state.

  • Ummm... as a fan of your work and a frequent poster, I am amazed at your observations on my mental state.

  • No no no. It's MY mental state that's unbalanced.

  • Dammit... now I'm jealous.... So.... what's your secret?

  • It's funny. Ricketty old fans like that conjure up a room in a 100 year old hotel in New Orleans' French Quarter. The funny part is that I've only been to New Orleans once, and I didn't go into--much less stay at--one of those old hotels. Maybe it's from books and movies.

  • New Orleans, yes. I can also see that fan in some sleazy Bolivian cantina where most of the patrons are making shady arms deals and drinking tequila. That must be from a movie too.

  • Where do you come up with this stuff? It's great how you see the story in the ordinary.

  • Ordinary is all I've got. Thanks Bill.

  • holy shit... WHAT IS THAT.

    IS THAT HAIR I SEE?

    GROWING?

    lol

  • Growing, yes. But not fast enough.

  • I used to have a ceiling fan in my old apartment and it would shake just like that. I always thought it would shake so violently that it would fly off and chop my face up while I slept.

    That would suck.

  • That's why I never run that monster at night.

  • lol :) loved it. fantastic video as always.

  • Thanks!!

  • haha great vid Pat, groovy camera work ;]

  • Thank you, Evil Steve.

  • Surreal. It has quite a character, that fan. As do you of course, but I don't need to tell you that, do I?

  • You, my dear Cathy, have character. I just have the fan.

  • I wasn't expecting this =)

  • I know. It's kinda weird.

  • lol...x]

That thing looks like its gonna break off any second. Loved ur facial expression when that strong wind was blowing in your face lol

  • It's been that way for 2 years and I still haven't fixed it.
