Am I the only person who thinks Andrew Bird looks a little bit annoyed that he agreed to try to improvise with Annie? Her song's are so spontaneous at times that you could tell he was really struggling at parts. He wasn't looking at her romantically, it was more of "What the hell is she doing now? I really can't play alongside this. I look stupid."

Maybe you're all just romanticizing something because there's soft music involved and a man and woman playing it together? Or its me... :)

It is a good move for the both of them. Though not necessarily similar styles of music, they give off similar "vibes" when they play (if you'll excuse the dangerously hipster language).

That's why he's always playing different versions of his songs live. He's most inspired by the danger of making a mistake.

@ImTestingSleeping You may be right, but I sincerely doubt it. Annie's chord changes are classical arrangements which are Andrew's specialty. I think the only reason he was thrown off at all was because he was unfamiliar with the order of the chord changes and the dynamics of the song. Musically, he's a sound mind who can probably play to anything because he has an incredible ear for key and tonality. It's simply unfamiliarity that got him here, and even then it sounds great.
