On the phone, (usually phones have mute so) while Emily was talking on the phone with Anna she could have hit the mute so this sentence was formed: "Hey Anna...call...help...emergency­...please hurry..." then Anna, sensing the danger called for help and directed it to here friends house. I dunno, maybe?

Our internet was crappy so I just read his post. After the riddle there was a hint there and this was written "Read the conversation carefully. Think of a feature on a telephone." And then I got. "Emergency...please hurry." He said I was right and then I read the answer afterwards.

Firstly she said it was an emergency, Also it is possible she said that the responder knew was not true but would not be obviously false to the intruder. The responder could then work out there was something was wrong here, that it was an emergency and call the police

When her father called her, he became suspicious because Emily won't need her Science notes because she is currently studying for her important English examination for the next day which means she wouldn't need those notes. He became even more suspicious because she told him that she needs it fast, so he called the police right away to know what really happened. By the way, maybe her father was already taking when she called him Anna which might not be his name, and it adds more hung up to him.
