Thousands of American's with developmental and intellectual disabilities are waiting for help. In Colorado, alone, there are more than 12,000 children and adults waiting for the most basic of assistance and therapies. Disability is a natural part of life and it is not partisan in how it impacts a family. Thanks for recognizing this issue. We can only hope that regardless of who is elected these issues won't be forgotten.

John McCain doesn't seem to understand that Sarah Palin's grand-daughter has Down Syndrome, not Autism. He says twice that she knows more about "autism" than anyone else he knows, which is just ridiculous and confused. BO I am on disability due to severe depression due to not have employment, due to ageism and racism which is one of the causes of my depression, I owe 93,000 dollars in student loans, and am unable to find decent employment which makes me depressed which makes me have to be on disability....Is this any way for a true American to have to live....I wish you would hire me to to help in your presidency once you get in office...we need help out here....among the real people of america

Obama has sponsored both the Community Choice Act, and the Expanding the Promise for Individuals With Autism Act of 2007. McCain has stated that these programs are too costly, and has not supported any autism friendly legislation!

The reason McCain chose to use autism as a platform, is simple. Since prenatal testing for Down's Syndrome has become available, the amount of those born with Down's Syndrome has decreased 90%. Considering 1 in every 150 children in the US now has autism, autism commands a larger population of voters.

It had absolutely nothing to do with the issue, only a ploy to gain more votes with empty promises.

Please explain to people that if they make $275K that their tax burden doesn't actually go UP. You do understand that this is a tiered system right? Joe the plumber? He's a sole proprietor is he not? The ONLY portion of his income that will be taxed at a higher rate is the portion over $250K. He is getting a DECREASE all the way up to roughly 225K. I can't tell you how touched I was to hear both presidents talk about dealing with autistic people and their needs. I have an autistic brother, which explains why it touched me, ever so.
