I had a turtle snapped at me. I'm like look damnit, I was sent here to do a "teenage mutant ninja turle" follow-up! Then he was cool about it and gave me an autograph! :) btw - bless you for doing the right thing there!
That snapper was big enought to eat, provided he wasn't all wormy inside, etc. The meat is pretty good, but they can put the big hurt on a hand it when someone is stupid enought to get bit by one. LOL. Good vid but personally, I like the Graphic content very nasty vide a lot better than the turtle. Kudos.
the turtle was saying"get away from me i will bite you,i'll get in the can for you.weeeeeeee im going somewhere, ouch your hurting me!!!!raaaawrr i am a monster, goodbye mr trashman!!!" whadaya think eric
i cant drive Im only 10 but whenever im riding my dirtbike or walking by a road i move dead things and live things so things wont eat the dead things and get hit and so the other things wont get hit
Great work, the world need more folks like you. Once I stopped to save a box turtle on a narrow road and as I was walking towards it a car came and swerved to purposely crush it. I was pissed!
For me personally,as a garbage man, seeing the dirty industrial side of human society every day makes me appreciate the beauty of nature all the more. As I witness the rapid expansion of concrete and asphalt overtake the surrounding areas I wish to see this done in a more responsible and respectfull manner. In the name of the dollar we callously bulldoze nature into the ground with little thought to the consequences.
To me, this turtle, with its small one track brain, is just as worthy of its place here as any of us.If someone wants to eat it, fine, that doesnt bother me, but they shouldnt be pushed to the brink of extinction by thoughtless destruction of habitat.
ya I agree, and we're bulldozing tons of non-nature stuff into the ground too.. quite literally.. nature is really hurting from all the waste and stuff people do and release into the ground and air.
I had a baby snapper when I was younger,it was a cool little turtle. Ive always loved reptiles, turtles and snakes in particular. My parents had to put up with me bringing them home all the time when i was a kid lol (dad was scared of snakes haha).
Im pretty sure he was headed straight to the nearby pond, they somehow know exactly where to find water, and dont like being on land unless they are relocating or looking for a place to lay eggs.Luckily this road isnt very busy so it still had a good chance to get where it was going.
Very nice thing to do. I have seen some people hit deer and elk and just leave them on the road, no too many turtles around here tho, not that many ponds or lakes, just trees and rivers. Good idea to see where it's head was first too, those things can hurt like a sonofa when they bite. I have been bitten by a snake, at least those let go after a few seconds!
Eric your a man with a heart.I bet when you were little you had a turtle as a pet.I love all animals.I see little cats that have been run over and sorry assholes just leave them there.I wish there was a law that if you hit an animal even by accident you must move it to the side of the road. And try to contact the owner atleast knock on a door or 2.I have seen a man do that before its only deasant thing to do.Turtles can live to 100 or more years.I think sea Turtles are some neat little fellows.
Ive had many a pet turtle over the years, even some of these kind. There is a video here on YT from an episode of Dirty Jobs that has a huge 150 pound Alligator Snapping turtle (the kind in this video are Common Snapping turtles) that is estimated to be 150 years old, supposedly they have found them still alive with Civil War era musket balls lodged in them. Amazing creatures, nearly unchanged for millions of years because their design has always worked so well.
Well Eric we need a whole lot more people like you man people with a heart and a brain. You sound very knowlegable about turtles.I don't know very much about them only that i like them and they are cute little fellows.Just don't get close to that cute snapping mouth LOL..
Eric- Thank you. I already thought you where awesome, but this seals the deal. I have done that same thing many times. I once rescued a screech owl that had been hit by a car. I took her to the vet (very carefully, with thick leather gloves)and she lost a wing. I found her a home at the nature preserve where she remains as she would surely die on her own now. She now gets to travel w/her handler to schools to teach children about nature and birds of prey.
Hehe this one wasnt that violent because it wasnt very warm outside, so he wasnt moving as fast. When they are warmed up they are downright viscious when approached on land. I tried to move one the size of a car tire one time (before I carried a camera), mustve weighed 60-70 lbs! It chased after me, trying its hardest to get ahold of me with its massive jaws lol. Definately not something you want getting ahold of you, they dont let go until they rip a chunk out of you!
you should be carefully because that turtle have a strong bit, the bit is so strong that it bit your half finger off
